So I have a question as I’m fairly new to target as a guest advocate mainly drive up ( a little over a month at 16 years old) and I picked up an opening shift at service desk. Is the hours on drive up the same as the store hours? which for my store it’s 7 am to 10pm. I’m asking because I would like to do a little bit of my own work before drive up starts flooding in like sorting stray and doing bullseye. Thanks!

How to get your order fast/ most convenient for you and the driveup crew with TLDR
Tldr: ALWAYS PARK CLOSE TO THE TARGET AND NOT IN THE FARTHEST SPACE!! we can usually deliver your order in under 3 minutes if you download the app and check in when you leave your house, with the target app having your location. outside of the hours of 5-6pm on weekdays and 11-7 on weekends
(App) You can pickup other peoples orders through the app if your picking up for someone else have the app downloaded. Dont have them text you the code.
(Turn location services on) Target employees cannot see where you are but it does show how far you are so they will most likely wait outside when you’re almost there decreasing wait times.
(Have the code ready open for the first 3 minutes you’ve checked in)
Returns cannot be made with items that don’t have a barcode unless you go to the service desk.
Don’t come during busy hours if you want your order fast. Busiest hours are 5-6pm every weekday 11-7 on weekends you will most likely get your order under 5 minutes if you come outside these times.
Check in when you leave your house
BUT MOST IMPORTANT park close to the target if the spaces are empty park in the lowest space number possible always
Thank you for listening please be patient with us during the holiday season :) Also my fellow drive up workers comment anything i missed.
The few times I've used the drive up feature, I've loved it. But, I feel like I'm taking advantage of team members. But, I have a few questions regarding things that could really tick you off:
Obviously, double tappers make your blood boil. I live about 5 minutes from my local store. What is the ideal time in between "I'm leaving" and "I'm here" ?
Is there a general limit on items that make the experience go from "ok" to "not okay"?
Are there certain items that really irritate you when ordered through drive up?
Thanks guys for sharing your unfiltered insight on this.
Genuinely curious! Usually I’m ordering 1 or 2 things that I’ll grab on my way to or from work. Usually it’s ready right when the store opens which always impresses me 🤣 Is it an opening procedure to pick orders placed overnight? What’s the secret?
I appreciate you all!!
