From what I’ve heard about Target HR roles at the stores, they are a watered down version of HR. Think store supervisor with focus on HR instead of an HR Professional. If the role and compensation look good to you after reading the description, it doesn’t hurt to apply and have a conversation with them about what the role looks like. I'm wondering if this would be a good prospect for me, or if an application is even worth it. The only time I ever see retail HR mentiond in this subreddit is if it's alluding to Amazon, and that's not really retail; no one ever talks about Target, Walmart, etc. I'm wondering if there's a reason to that? Is their HR legitimate?
I worked at Target forever ago, but it wasn't for very long, and I had little to no interaction with upper management. Has anyone here been an executive for HR at Target? Did you like it?
I'm in the market for a new job, and I am looking for the next step up from a Coordinator. There are several postings currently in my area, but it looks like this Target role has the best salary range, and based on the job descriptions, I seem to be qualified? I have three years of HR experience. I currently make about $30 an hour, and their posting lists a range of $60,000 - $120,000 for the Executive Team Leader and about $16.25 for the HR Expert.

I was a HR Team Member back in the day, it was like 10% HR and 90% handing out walkie talkies and zebras while doing backup cashier and stocking work. Our HR ELT spent most of his time as ELT on duty and managing the floor rather than HR work. YMMV I suppose depending on store.

depends on what you are willing to do, our regular HR experts only do HR and nothing more than that but the TL will help out in SB every once in a while and the HR ETL is always all over the floor so essentially just as a HR expert no you won’t be doing anything else. Maybe other stores do it differently but i’ve never seen it at my store
