Security Operations (SOC) 101 - TCM Security
2 weeks ago - Pair the Security Operations (SOC) 101 course with the PSAA exam to validate your skills with a recognized credential.
Blue team level1 or TCM security SOC 101
I've worked in a SOC as an analyst, senior analyst & engineer, and have done BTL1, BTL2, & other TCM courses: BTL1 - It's really high quality, relevant, has hands-on labs, a practical exam, probably a little bit more HR recognition, but it is really quite introductory. PSAA - While I haven't done it, the other TCM courses I've done have been to a very high standard and were great. Like BTL1, PSAA also has practical elements and exam. The exam looks more rigorous, being longer and having to write a report instead of just multiple choice. I also reckon this course is a bit more in depth than BTL1. Basically... I don't think you can go wrong with either. BTL1 if you want a bit more HR recognition. PSAA if you want something that will probably take your skills a bit further. I'd also recommend complementing whichever you choose with blueteamlabsonline (from the same company as BTL1), tryhackme, letsdefend, cyberdefenders, etc for more hands-on lab training. SOC Analysts i need your advice
Get entry level practical certifications like BTL1 or TCM PSAA or THM SAL1. Doing this you learn about SIEM tools, Digital forensics, email analysis, and other topics. Later you can go for more advanced certifications like CCD or HTB CDSA. Best regards More on reddit.com
SOC 101 from TCM or THM soc pathway?
Also look into CDSA from HackTheBox Academy. More on reddit.com
THM, TCM ACAD, HTB WHICH IS BETTER?
THM (Try Hack Me) for free content and* exposure. * TCM for lifetime updates. * HTB (Hack The Box) if you're looking for more structured content. * Going in the top to bottom order would be ideal. But everyone has their preferences. You could easily go with exploring each tool in a KL VM and just review the man pages as you attempt to break another hosted VM in your own network. (Edit: typo - changed an to and* as I saw OP wanted clarification. Exposure in this context, means "seeing/learning" from the material of the service. Example: "Exposure" to more ice cream flavors, means you're tasting more. Yummy. More on reddit.com

BTL1 is more basic but it has better HR recognition. PSAA goes more in depth in knowledge but recognition is very limited, it s very new. Best regards

TCM Security - PSAA (Practical SOC Analyst Associate)
December 12, 2024 - Let me start by saying that I am delighted to announce that I have successfully PASSED TCM Security’s PSAA exam. There is not much I can say about the exam itself in the interest of maintaining the integrity of the exam, so I will only comment on my experience in very general terms. First off, the SOC 101 course which is available on the monthly TCM subscription or when you purchase the exam is such an amazing course.
