Hello Reshma, this is Emily.
You can download Teams from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams...
It is your account type that determines if you are using Teams for free as a personal account of Teams for Work/School. So make sure you log in with your work or school email address credential once you have it downloaded and installed.

I can't seem to find where should I download the Work or School version of Teams. Does anyone know where could I find it?
Here are the things that I exactly did:
Tried to download Teams on this website
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app
Then tried to log in using my work email but I got a message saying "You can't sign in here with a work or school account. Use your personal account instead."
There's a button that redirects me to the same website earlier
But I'm not seeing any options to download the Work or School version.
Where can I download the Teams desktop app for work or school accounts?
Teams for Work or School
Teams Installation for Work and School...
How do I download the school/work-specific Teams app?
Links for downloading MSIX packages for Teams can be found on https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/new-teams-bulk-install-client

Hi rpr.nospam,
Greetings. Thank you for posting the thread to our community.
I understand your concern, it seems you’ve encountered issue when installing Teams on your device. For the situation you’ve encountered, I do understand the inconvenience caused and feel very sorry about it.
Based on your first query about the install package, as far as I know, this is an update by Microsoft which combine the Teams for personal and the Teams for work/school download link into this new one:’MSTeamsSetup.exe’. In that case, it is due to design and technically it should be workable to install Teams through this link. Apparently, it is abnormal that you cannot install Teams through this install package.
Due to this situation, to have a better understanding and identify the root cause of your issue, May I confirm the following information with you?
- May I confirm whether you are trying to install Teams on a computer that never installed Teams before or re-install Teams on a computer?
- May I confirm whether you can access to this link: Microsoft Teams - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store and install Teams or not? If you cannot install it, Please provide me a screenshot of your test result.
Appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial reply may not resolve the situation very soon. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. Please kindly provide the requested information so that I can work further.
Hope you having a nice day.
Sincerely,

Dear Sethhhhhh
Good day!
Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist!
Based on your description, I understand you concern with Teams installation in Microsoft Teams website.
Yes, because the classic Teams app is being replaced by the new Teams app. The Teams download page now provides a single installer that automatically detects and installs the appropriate version for your system, whether it's 64-bit or 32-bit, Mac or Windows. This change aims to simplify the download process and ensure that users get the correct version without having to make a selection manually.
If you have other questions, please feel free to let me know, I will continue to assist you.
Thanks for your precious time and your understanding would be highly appreciated. Have a nice day!
Best regards,

Hello,
That's because the Unified Teams app has recently become available. The announcement was here: Unified Teams app for work, personal, and education accounts is now available on all platforms - Microsoft Community Hub
It is strange that Teams is not installed when you install O365 for Business. Then you do a quick windows search to make sure it isn't and Teams pops up. But it isn't the right teams, it is the "other teams" which is also called teams but cannot be logged into with a business account. So from the Teams online Portal there is a link called Download Teams for Work or School, so you click on that and download it. But by default Microsoft has enhanced security on new computers with Win11 such that you cannot install the teams software because... "This App package is not supported for installation by app installer because it uses certain restricted capabilities." sigh...
While I fully understand how to get around all of this, the process is laughable. Does Microsoft not use any of this?
Dear respected Dominique Creppel,

I’m sorry you’re having a problem but based on your description we can work together to resolve it.

As per your description, firstly, may I know you OS? are you using Windows OS or Mac OS? for our reference, so we can understand your exact scenario and provide our suggestion in a productive manner, perhaps some related screenshots will be helpful.
Also, could you please confirm, if you install Office 365 Suite via go to www.Office.com and use your school credential, does the Microsoft Team app not installed with others Office 365 apps?
If you are using Windows OS, then there are actually two different versions of the desktop app, so download and install the correct one. Please make sure that you are signing in to the Teams for work/school version on your device.
Try:
- uninstall teams.
- install teams (see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=2187327&clcid=0x809).
Choose correct "type" of install.
Please understand that our initial reply may not always immediately resolve the issue. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
I'm sorry and I apologize for that.
Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Waqas Muhammad
