Teensy-LC has RTC logic on-chip, but lacks the 32.786 kHz crystal oscillator & VBAT battery backup power pin. An internal oscillator can be used but the accuracy is poor. This table shows zero, to give you an honest summary of the hardware's real capability.

Bootloader Chip for DIY Teensy LC, 3.2, 3.5, 3.6 Projects
March 10, 2017 - By using this chip and a blank MKL26Z64VFT4 or MK20DX256VLH7 or MK64FX512VMD12 or MK66FX1M0VMD18, you can build your own Do-It-Yourself board that's compatible with Teensyduino and Teensy Loader. MK64FX512VLQ12 or MK66FX1M0VLQ18 (LQFP package) also work. The MKL02 or MKL04 will automatically detect which chip you've used and implement either Teensy LC, 3.2, 3.5 or 3.6.

Pulse Width and Tone on Teensy with Arduino
On Teensy LC, the timers operate directly from the main clock generator, so the ideal frequency and PWM resolution do not scale with CPU clock speed, as on Teensy 3.0 - 3.6.

r/embedded on Reddit: What is a Teensy and what kinds of things is it good for?
March 7, 2025 -
I've been looking at getting into some basic embedded programming and I have been interested in something like a teensy 4.1 but as someone that is new to embedded programming, it looks potentially interesting and I'd like to understand what kinda of things could it be used for?

I’ve been using it in my research for data acquisition in remote areas. The onboard SD card is pretty nice and it has a crap ton of I/O. Having so many hardware serial ports is great. Pretty solid community support. It can pretty much do anything. The one kind of weird quirk about it is that it’s so absurdly fast that you get issues you wouldn’t typically get with other microcontrollers. If that sounds weird to you, it’s because it is. I had to have a complete mindset change when debugging because of how absurdly fast it is.
