Tempurpedic has been a waste of money. What topper are people suggesting for a softer feel?
Has anyone gotten the tempurpedic mattress topper?
Warning : Tempurpedic has changed the formula of it's Tempur-Topper Supreme, the new formula feels completely different and is still being sold under the same name / price
Tempur Pedic vs firm mattress with Tempur Pedic topper
it would be a good idea, except that tempurpedic (and pretty much everyone else to be fair) don't use the same foam in their toppers as they do in the actual mattress. i imagine they do this because 1) the cost of a 2-3" of high density memory foam is more than the consumer expectation for a topper, especially after factoring in their very large profit margin, and 2) they dont want to offer a similar experience with a relatively inexpensive topper as you get with their multi-thousand dollar complete mattress.
tempurpedic doesn't tell you the density but you can calculate it from the weight - the topper is using around 2.8Lb foam. The tempur-es material they use as the comfort layer in their soft-feel mattresses is reported to be 4.1Lb.
More on reddit.comWe purchased a medium Tempur pedic about 2 years ago from Mattress Firm. My wife has back issues from an accident several years ago so we decided to spend money on a good mattress. The sales rep guided us to the Medium Tempur LuxBreeze mattress which would be perfect.
Long story short this mattress never got soft after the last 2 years and is making her back even worst. What a waste of $5k. Should have bought a mattress from Amazon for under $500.
Anyway, Now we are trying to find a mattress topper that will be softer and good reviews. Does anyone have suggestions?
