How long does a Tempur-Pedic mattress last?
Tempur-Pedic manufactures some of the densest foams we’ve seen in mattresses, using at least 4.5 pounds per cubic foot for Tempur memory foam and 2.5 pounds per cubic foot for polyfoam in its Tempur-Adapt and Tempur-Cloud mattresses, for example. Compared with cheaper mattresses that use less-dense foams, Tempur-Pedic mattresses should be more durable and less likely to form body impressions, even for people who weigh more than 200 pounds. Tempur-Pedics mattresses come with a 10-year warranty, and considering their durable construction, we expect them to last at least a decade.

When is the best time to buy a Tempur-Pedic mattress?
The Wirecutter Deals team has found that Tempur-Pedic mattresses frequently go on sale. For example, the Tempur-LuxeAdapt retails for $4,300, but the “street price,” or the price you’re more likely to pay at any given time, hovers around $3,900. Because sales are so frequent, we advise against ever buying a mattress at full price unless you absolutely need it right away. To avoid paying retail, or even the average sale price, we recommend holding out for a major sale. As is the case for most mattresses we recommend, Memorial Day, Presidents’ Day, and Labor Day are all great times to snag a goo

r/Mattress on Reddit: Tempur-Pedic ProBreeze Orange Advice at Sleep Country Canada
May 20, 2023 -

Hi Folks I need some help with a mattress. Sleep Country is selling this above stated mattress at a premium cost. I like the fact that it does cool. Are there comparable models in other stores that do the same by Tempur-Pedic? The firm mattress is the one I want. There is also the LuxeBreeze 2.0 that claims a 10 degrees difference vs the ProBreeze. How do the Costco ones, Brick ones etc compare?

On a side note, I have read from one site that the foam mattresses are not great for sex. So some actual confirmation about this bit would be great as well.

The Canadian TP mattresses models are different than those in the US, not sure about direct comparisons unless someone knows that they're the same and only marketed under different names. Generally most memory foam mattresses have a dead feeling as far as their responsiveness and on those you sink into deeply you have to climb out of the hole you're in to reposition. So they're not great for sex because of their low responsiveness and lack of bounce. If you focus on hybrid designs (with springs for the support layer) they'll have more bounce but are still kind of dead feeling on top due to the memory foam properties.

Had lower lumbar back pain. Was suggested Tempurpedic Pro Breeze medium. Very expensive, well guess what, it made my back pain even worse! Went back and the sales rep was willing to do an exchange to the firmest pro breeze. Been months and still issues. DO NOT get tempurpedic if your a stomach or side sleeper. Not worth the money, still had many hot flashes. I feel like it’s a big gimmick! When you first lay on it the foam is firm and adapts to your body, awesome feels great including the support. What you don’t know until your first sleep on it. Is that after the viscoelastic foam heats up it just becomes normal soft memory foam no longer having the support you expected in the store. If your in Canada careful with Sleep Country, they will prob try to up sell you on your exchange. Then your stuck you will not get that money back or worse like me loose money!

r/Mattress on Reddit: Tempur-Pedic - Yes or No?
May 24, 2023 -

Currently looking to buy a new mattress as my current bed in a box has become too soft.

Have tested Tempur-Pedic Adapt Medium and Pro Adapt Medium in numerous stores and love the feel/support.

My only hang-up is the countless reviews I see online stating they will do anything to get out of a warranty and the product sagging or dipping a few years after ownership.

I just don't want to get stuck with a $3200 bed that fails in a few years. Does anyone here have any thoughts, good or bad? If you own one, which model and for how long?

Long term TP owner here. Basically the mattress takes some getting used to (give yourself at least two months, get used to the floaty feel and also the slightly higher body heat retention). Overall, I wouldn’t change it for another mattress. Having run sleep apps, its clear that I barely move all night whilst on a TP leading to much better quality sleep. By contrast, even on very high end sprung mattresses, I end up moving a lot more with greater disrupted sleep. Stories about TP mattresses sagging should be taken with a pinch of salt. Unless you are seriously heavy, I wouldn’t worry about it. I have two TP beds in my house. No sagging at all after 5 and 10 years of use respectively. The only downside I can think of is that the mattresses sleep slightly hotter. This is only noticeable in summer, and the solution is simply to cover yourself with less. In summary: I’d go for it.

I had the same concerns after reading way too many Tempur Pedic reviews; lots of love for the feel, but the sagging and warranty issues definitely gave me pause. I personally ended up going with the Plush Beds botanical bliss after seeing the comparison here https://www.reddit.com/r/Mattress/comments/1h1m2js/comment/mk6u2ux/ . For me personally, PlushBeds seemed like the best choice. It’s all latex, so you should still get that contouring support but with more bounce and durability. Plus, it’s got a great return policy. Still waiting on it to arrive though and I'm excited to try it out!!!
