I noticed this new pillow: https://www.costco.com/.product.1804267.html
However, that pillow has the exact same name and almost identical description as an older pillow: https://www.costco.com/serenity-by-tempur-pedic-cooling-memory-foam-pillow.product.4000205431.html
Despite the similar names and descriptions, the pictures look very different, with the older version having a gusset around the edge.
My 6-year old pillow is flat as a pancake, so I've been eyeing these products. Does anyone have any experience with them, and do you know what the difference is between these 2? I asked Tempur-Pedic what the difference was, but they gave me a dubious answer, saying one of them was higher than the other. The description states that both are medium support.
Update: I saw the first pillow I linked, the new one, in the warehouse today so I bought it. The first things that popped out at me were that it was pretty small, so my pillow cases and pillow protector are going to have a couple of inches of loose material on 2 sides. Also, that it was giving off a strong smell after I removed the airtight plastic wrap. Lastly, my hand sinks down further than I expected when pressing down on it. For now, it’s sitting on the couch off-gassing. Hopefully that only takes a day or so. Right now, I’m estimating a 60% chance that I’ll end up returning it.
Has anyone tried these pillows out yet? Currently on sale for $39 each. $10 off.
I've been dying to replace my old pillows.

I bought this topper out of desperation and thank goodness I can return it!!!
Don't buy the Serenity by Tempur-Pedic topper. It's a piece of junk, joke! It tore everywhere just laying it on a table and trying to rotate it. Then, when I saw that, I carefully grabbed it to rotate it and move it to a different location and it ripped more! Basically, it rips anytime you touch it! The cover isn't actually a cover as you'd expect for this caliber of a topper. It's a rounded-edge fitted mattress only thicker. Because the corners of the mattress are pointed it just bunches on the corners and pulls the mattress upward. It's extremely difficult to get it on as it just pulls the whole other side and it curls up due to the low density so even with two people it was a LONG struggle! As you can imagine, putting a fitted sheet or mattress cover over it was even worse. It's just a poor fit! The 3 inches are non-existent when you lay down on it or even sit on it. In, fact, if you hold it between your thumb and index finger you can completely flatten it just with your fingertips! There is no density so you touch the ground but it puffs on the sides of you so you can't get up! I actually tried stacking two which was a total fail because I REALLY couldn't move and was stuck in the middle with my body on the hard floor and total puff on the sides. I feel pretty stupid thinking that stacking two soft toppers with no supportive layer would be a good idea! lol I'm a dedicated side sleeper but in desperation, I tried laying in all positions and none of them were good. I'm 176lbs for reference, but I feel like anything but an ant would sink to the bottom! The smell is STRONG!!! Honestly, it's super overpriced for what you get. I got a cheaper one at Target in the past that was better for more than half the price of this one. I'm truly shocked that a company with such a good reputation for mattresses would create something this poor of quality and even more by the reviews that said it was great to begin with!
My husband and I recently bought the Kirkland Stearns and Foster Lakeridge mattress from Costco and we like it a lot. We are both mostly side sleepers and are pretty lightweight (120 and 135 pounds). While we like the plush firmness of the mattress, we wonder if we would be more comfortable with a topper. We are looking at the Serenity by Tempur-pedic topper from Costco but the reviews are mixed and it’s been hard to make a decision. For people that have this topper, what have been your experiences?
Hi guys, recently been working on my posture (shoulders hunched and forward) and trying to slouch less. Ever since I've actively started working towards it, my back and neck has been very sore. I assume that that's a good thing because different muscles are being used more. Anyway, all this neck and back pain forced me to look for pillows that promoted better posture.
After doing some basic research, I noticed some people mentioning positive results with the Tempur-Neck pillow and I figured I should give it a go. After getting the sticker shock of that pillow, I started shopping around and noticed that Costco sells a very similar pillow called the Tempurpedic Serenity Contour which just so happens to be on sale as well.
I know it's on brand for Costco to sell a manufacturer's product under a different name, so I'm wondering if these two pillows are one and the same.
Would any of you guys have experience with these pillows and perhaps any inputs?
So, I'm moving and would like to upgrade from my old memory foam mattress and there are so many options out there it's really difficult (Purple, Casper, ... even Avacado!). I believe Tempur-Pedic has a pretty great reputation -- anyone have any thoughts on this mattress? Costco has it for $1,699 (King size) and I'm very tempted to pull the trigger. Is this a bad idea? Any other recommendations in this price range?
When researching online, Tempur pedic has done a bang up job of making it incredibly hard to find research about their mattresses other than “it’s the best memory foam out there.”
But looking at the listed materials and descriptions, it seems these two mattresses are nearly identical? There isn’t much info about the serenity mattress but it does say “new comfort material” where the Adapt specifically calls it the new ES material that is softer on their main website.
I guess the main difference is the serenity is 10 inches and the adapt is 11 inches according to the websites.
Cooling - Item 1804267
Non-cooling - Item 1108569
Which one is better?
I am looking for memory foam , but cool feel.
I know Tempur has some. The ones from Costco are not cool breeze.
Any recommendations of something similar ?
We are in the marker for a new mattress. Currently on a 15 year old pillow top.
We tested mattresses yesterday and my husband and I both loved the Tempurpedic LuxeBreeze but had major sticker shock. With that being said, we are willing to pay the price if it is that superior of a product.
Today I went to the Original Mattress Factory and the salesman basically said that the cooling technology is a bunch of BS. He said that their Serenity Line is superior to the Tempurpedic and is a fraction of the cost. I emailed the salesman at Mattress Firm to see what he thought of the Mattress Factory claim. His response was……
Unfortunately there is not a comparison. Simply because a tempurpedic is a fully adaptive material where all memory foam will conform to you it doesn’t adapt to your body. If you are looking for something similar your best bet is our Sealy Silver chill line or our beauty rest hybrid. Now the cooling technology in the tempurpedic beats all of them hands down. And designed to last 15-20 years that why there’s a larger price point
Who is right? Am I comparing apples to apples or apples to oranges?
I have been using the Beautyrest Silver Aquacool Memory Foam Pillow for almost 6 years now. I've always got them from Walmart. This is the only pillow I have found that doesn't kill my neck and shoulders. Unfortunately it looks like they aren't made anymore and everywhere I search it says unavailable or out of stock. Almost all memory foam pillows are too high and rounded on top for me and it so frustrating to keep dropping money on pillows that I end up not being able to use within days due to pain. If anyone has any recommendations for similar pillows I would appreciate it
Been looking for one for my mom that would help her get a good night’s rest :) preferably under $100, what do you guys use? TIA!
Somewhat often, I wake up with really bad neck pain. Yesterday was one of those times, and it's really bad this time, so I've decided enough is enough. I want to step up my pillow game.
I like a low pillow, and I like for my head to sink pretty far because if my chin tucks in at all, I convince myself that it's hard to breathe. These factors led me to the TEMPUR-Neck pillow. The thing is, though, I've also seen tons of memory foam pillows on Amazon with that shape for roughly half the price.
I know that there are some areas where price and brand are meaningful, and some where they aren't - I don't know if pillows are one of those areas. Paying for the TEMPUR-Neck wouldn't be the end of the world, but if it's not at all necessary, I'd like to avoid it. Are Tempur-Pedic products worth their price, or is it just brand-name price inflation?
And yes, it’s always been that shade of yellow. It’s kind of a more firm memory foam material that I’ve never seen been replicated. Would anyone know maybe where I can find one or one similar?
Costco sells the serenity for under 200. The Supreme (wirecutter’s recommended topper) is 400. Both are tempurpedic, both are three inches thick.
What on earth is the difference between them?? A difference of $200+ no less. Should I just buy the cheaper topper?
In 2018, I had big problems waking up at night because of neck pain. So then I went to Bed Bath & Beyond and got a Tempur-neck pillow. It is very soft but still supports my neck, which helps me sleep through the night. However, my boyfriend at the time (now my husband) tried my pillow and said he loved it and had never had such a good pillow.
So I kind of lent it to him, and he is still using my favorite pillow. I decided to get another Tempur-neck for myself, and to my surprise, the pillow is horrible. It is extremely hard and hurts me. I wake up many times during the night in a lot of pain.
It’s very hard to find a good pillow for me, but my husband really loves this pillow. Does anyone know what happened to Tempur-Pedic? How can I find this old version?
I have already tried buying other normal pillows, but they just cause me a lot of pain. I really wish I could get an old version of the soft Tempur-Pedic. Does anyone have an idea how? or similar recommendations?
I slept on this pillow at my SIL’s place and absolutely loved it. It is quite firm and feels like maybe some kind of memory foam. Unfortunately she can’t remember what brand it is, and there is no tag on the pillow. I’d love to purchase one for myself if I can figure out where it came from. Thank you in advance!
I am looking for recommendations for my new pillow. I am a back and side sleeper. I don't have specific preference of any brand/material, just want a comfortable one. My current pillow is getting too soft. It can't support my shoulder enough especially sleeping on the side. Thanks for any advice!
I’m looking for a new budget pillow, preferably memory foam or something that won’t go flat in a couple of months and is comfortable enough to not give me back pains or headaches.
I saw a few in my local Costco in Texas and I’m not sure which one to choose.
