I've got the ability to defeat plantera soon but after I do that what are good upgrades from the Onyx Blaster and Megashark that don't necessarily require a good supply of chlorophyte bullets to be good? I don't mind using chlorophyte bullets on bosses but using it in enemies gets expensive. I need things that are good with a musket pouch and endless quiver. I have the storm bow and shotbow as well.

Its expensive only because you are using it in low per shot damage weapons. Sniper rifle is very cost effective. Same goes for Xenopopper. But if you need a really cheap and effective pre-Celestial ranged weapon nothing can beat the Tsunami.

IRRC the megashark is one of the best weapons all the way to the end of the game, even with normal ammo. But have you tried using crystal bullets? Those are fairly easy to make since crystals are pretty easy to find. Meteorite ammo could work really nicely as well, especially in a place like the dungeon, which is usually your first stop after beating the golem. Plantera drops the venus magnum which supposedly out damages the megashark, but doesn't autofire. So it only out damages the megashark if you can click your mouse button faster than f#$# for long periods of time. There's the chain gun from the frost moon event which supposedly way out damages the megashark. Then there's the tactical shotgun & sniper rifle from the dungeon. Once you kill the moon lord you can the SDMG which is the best gun in the game.

I am post plantera, but I don't know what guns/bows I should use now, I'm using mega shark and have the Daedalus bow, and I was wondering if bows are better than guns or not, I personally enjoy the guns but I need outside opinions since I've never done a ranged playthrough.

I just beat all the mecha bosses, and I have frost armor, Daedalus stormbow with holy arrows, megashark with chlorophite bullets, dart rifle with curse darts, and onyx blaster. My accessories are frost wings, frosts park boots, charm of myths, ranger emblem, and stalkers quiver. What should I get before I fight plantera?

if you happen have an open acc lost you can stack different emblems like having both ranger and ava get for more damage.

What is the best weapon for ranged class to get right after beating plantera (don't tell me something you get for beating aliens)

The Tsunami is hands down the ultimate and go-to weapon dropped by Duke Fishron. This item absolutely shreds every enemy. It is worth noting that accessories such as the Magic Quiver and Molten Quiver with Holy Arrows are fantastic at mowing down everything. Considering you are post-Plantera I recommend shroomite armor.

Early hardmode I just used Clockwork Assault Rifle, Amarok, and Golden Showers as my weapons and Titanium armor. Now I have Hallowed Armor but working at getting Chlorophyte. I have no real class that I'm going for, but probably will be sticking to range. Right now I'm using Amarok(Waiting for Code 2 from the merchant), Light Discs, and Megashark with Crystal/Chlorophyte bullets, and the equipment I use are Hoverboard/Bee Mount for flying, Obsidian Shield, Star Veil, Frostspark Boots, then just a random piece for whatever I'm currently doing, Lava Waders for undergound, etc. Is there a better ranged weapon than the Megashark right now, or should I stick it out until I can get a Phantasm Bow? I haven't gone much into magic besides Nimbus Rod and Golden Showers but what are some bad ass spells or magic equipment that I could use? I think I could get into it.

Don't bother with Code 2, either go farm for yelets in the jungle, or EoC yoyo from solar eclipse. Then beat golem with the yoyo and get beetle armor.

You should specialize in one class instead of using stuff from other classes. Post-Plantera (or Pre-Plantera if Expert) your damage won't be enough otherwise. As for best items here's a few for each class: -Ranger: -Chain Gun (upgraded Minishark). You get it from the Frost Moon-event that is triggered by using Naughty Present-item (made from Silk, Ectoplasm, Souls of Fright) at night. -Stynger. Drop from the boss Golem. -Chlorophyte Repeater. -Magic: -Razorpine. Drop in Frost Moon-event. -Blizzard Staff. Also a drop in Frost Moon. -Bubble Gun. Drop from Duke Fishron. -Laser Machinegun. Drops from Martian Saucers in the Martian invasion event. -Melee: -The Eye of Cthulhu. A yoyo that drops from Mothron, a Solar Eclipse miniboss. -Terrablade. -North Pole. Drop from the Frost Moon event. That's pretty much it. As for accessories don't use Lavawaders, they're not that useful for you anymore. Use a damage accessory instead. Edit: Also don't get rid of the Golden Shower. While it's damage isn't enough in the late gane the Ichor debuff will stay strong through out the game. Keep it and use it to debuff enemies to deal increased damage against them.

Use ranger specific armor like chlorophyte with the ranged headgear. Focus on one damage type. Replace flesh knuckles with a ranger emblem (farmed from WoF good luck). Use holy, ichor or cursed arrows to increase damage. If you're fighting plantera with the Stormbow make sure you clear out a large space above you so that the arrows do not hit blocks. The main point is to specify the damage type you want. Turtle armor is good but it is melee specific so you are hurting your ranged damage by using it.

chlorophyte shotbow with ichor arrows and then megashark with crystal bullets is always fun and reliable
