Considering how much time it already took for me to put all of this together, the fact that I'd have to learn new software, and that some of them are incapable of the kind of animation I'm doing, it's kind of a tall order for me to go out and buy new software just so I can increase their compatibility. Sorry! Please don't kill me. Q. If I'm doing multiple killmarkers, how do I make it say something different in each one? In the bin, use Ctrl+D / Cmd+D to duplicate the Killmarker for each kill. Change the text in each duplicate. Q. Everything's too big! The text is way off the screen! If I try to edit the text size and placement, everything goes crazy! If you're using Premiere Pro, select all of the compositions in the timeline and click "Scale to Frame Size" . If you're using After Effects, don't edit the object placement in the composition directly. Instead, do the following: Create a new composition with your footage in it. Drag the PlayOfTheGame composition to your Footage composition, making sure it's on the top. . Change the scale of the PlayOfTheGame composition (expand the layer, then "Transform" > "Scale", or select the composition and hit the S key) until it properly fills the frame. (For reference, 1080p is 50% of 4K.) Edit your text as necessary. SELF-INDULGENT TALES OF STRUGGLE AND SACRIFICE These tiny little minuscule additions were a lot more involved than I expected them to be. For the Killmarker text, since the skull and flame icon didn't appear to be available anywhere on the Internets, I ended up having to draw them myself in Adobe Illustrator. I mean, I could have just stolen random stuff off the Internet instead, but really, who does that? Furthermore, in the game, the text is center-justified, so in order to stay accurate to the game and avoid crap like this happening whenever you changed a text field, I had to learn how to do some weird scripting nonsense to make sure the text would center-justify properly despite being four separate text fields of variable length. To get the sound effects for the hitmarker, critmarker, and killmarker. I ended up having to record some gameplay (using Hanzo because he's got a quiet weapon with a travel time, which means his firing SFX doesn't interfere with the marker sounds) and clean up the audio a little bit so that it sounds nice and yummy. But I'm sure that, with my luck, someone's going to rip the files straight out of the game and post it to the sub, like, tomorrow, thereby completely obsoleting my efforts. Yay!
