Also, zero is unique as it doesn't have a negative or a positive counterpart. In mathematics, two numbers are called opposites if their sum is equal to zero. For example, the opposite of 5 is -5 because 5 + (-5) = 0. In that logic, the statement ...

Is zero positive or negative? Neither, actually. If you think about it, positive numbers are those greater than zero and negative numbers are those less than it. As zero is neither less than or more than zero, it cannot be positive or negative What is -1 times 0 is it -0? Just 0 by the argument I gave above. And what actually happened when you divided by zero? Well you can't, at least not in the real number system. What you can do is take a function 1/x and see what happens when x gets close to 0. When this happens, 1/x blows up to infinity/-infinity. 1/0 in itself is undefined. Think about it. How would you divide 1 chocolate among 0 people?

Is zero positive or negative? Well, what do you mean by positive and negative? What is -1 times 0 -1 * 0 = 0 Is it -0? What is -0? Is it different from 0? And what actually happened when you divided by zero? In the common context of real numbers, the division by zero is undefined as there is no way to defined it while retaining the properties of distributivity, associativity and commutativity.
