I am buying a MBA in the next days and I wanna ask you if the refurbished products directly from apple are worth it. Are they slightly used and maybe polished etc or are they changing parts etc? I wanna get either a new base MBA 15” for 1500€ or an 15” M3 16gb/256gb reburbished for 999€, and although I generally tend to buy things brandnew, 500€ is a lot of money for me. Also the Mac is just needed for everyday tasks for about an hour or two per day.

16 inch M3 Max for £550 off, it was a no brainer
Obviously not but I kept reading how you can't tell the difference. Other than the outside of the box being white, it is just like a new one. Paper sleeves, and everything, battery at 5 cycles only (I think they put new batteries but not sure)
Took a flashlight and can't find a dent, smudge, lint, dust or anything.
Anyway extremely happy, snatched an 16 inch M2 Max, 38GPU, 64 GB RAM for just about $3,000 after Veteran discount. Just in time to put it through the ringer with all these gaming port kit stuff.
I've had a 14 in the past but this screen is incredible.
Give the refurbished store a chance if you are looking to buy.

To anyone that has recently purchased through the official Apple refurbished store: how is the quality of the product, any potential pitfalls or issues? Appreciate anyone willing to share their experiences.
Looking at potentially picking up a MBA.
I want to buy a m1 air when I start uni. The price is 850£ instead of 999, and I’ll also be able to use my student discount code for an extra 10% off. Did anyone buy from the refurbished part of the official apple website? Is the one year warranty enough?
Edit- thanks everyone for your responses and for your experiences! As long as they’ll have the air around the end of September I’ll buy it :)
Apple refurb is basically the same as buying new, you honestly can’t tell it is a refurb.
If they have the item you want available on the refurb store and you can still use your discount it’s worth it.
Another multiple Apple refurb buyer here. The machine will be indistinguishable from new, aside from a plain shipping box. Same warranty as a new machine. And you can always add AppleCare.
What's the difference between the 3? I thought everything refurbished had to be top notch?
Is it ok to buy a "fair" or should I avoid that?
I am looking at getting either a refurbished or new Macbook Pro 16" with Apple M3 Max. The prices on the Apple certified refurbished are only slightly less than the brand new, and my hope (or guess) is that they will be basically brand new. However, I have purchased refurb computers via Dell many times and I like them but they tend to have less battery life to them (I don't mind that about the Dells because I felt like I got a substantial discount).
My question is if anyone has had any experience buying an M3 Max refurbed and what the condition was actually like and if they felt like the amount of price savings was good but without sacrificing quality?
I seen MacBook Pro refurbished . It is a lower price than original MacBook
I want to know . What is certified refurbish and is it worth
I was in the market for a new computer and had settled on an iMac 5k. I wasn't incredibly worried about having the latest and greatest (I opted for the MF886LLA.) Was wondering what other users' experience is with refurbished products, and whether or not I should cancel the order depending on your feedback.
Refurbished products from Apple are basically like new. If anything, they're better than new as they go through stricter testing to ensure that they are never returned again.
Anything and everything that was even remotely touched would be swapped and the problem component will obviously be swapped.
It's basically a new product that goes through more tests and doesn't come with a typical Apple box.
I still don't get why more people don't buy refurbished... it's basically a discount on the same product.
All of my apple products are refurbished. Never had a single problem with any of them. They are all still ticking.
I often recommend people take advantage of Apple's refurb offers, since I've found them so high quality and generally as good as new. However, it's not obvious to most what this process is like, I wanted to share my latest experience. (in this case, an iPad Air gen 1)

Fyi, the rest of the process is exactly as it is with any other Apple product. If I have a problem, I just take the product to the store. Easy as pie.
Oh, and just in case you aren't aware of how to get to the refurb store, here is a link: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals
I love the refurbed product line but I wish the laptops were a little less expensive. You might as well buy a brand new one. They're basically just like adding the student discount, but without you being a student.
Other than that, all the other products can save you a pretty good penny from what I've seen.
I bought a refurbished AirPort Extreme to extend coverage in my house at the end of January. The SHIPPING box that it came in amazed me. To the point that instead of throwing it away, I set it aside to show my father-in-law who worked in the Packaging division of General Mills for 30 years.
When you opened up the brown shipping box that it came in, it RAISED the white box of the AirPort Extreme out of itself. I must have raised and lowered it probably 30 times, and the pervasive thought running through my head was simply "my god, they put more work into the packaging and presentation of their refurbished gear than most companies do with flagship products."
I'm sort of mad now I didn't take a video of it. It was this horribly functional piece of engineering that just made me happy.
Hello. I want to buy an iPad Pro and I see some good offers in the refurbished department. It states that it gets a new battery and a new shell. Does the new shell include a new screen ? That should also be part of the outer shell. Or is it only the aluminum body. What are your experiences with refurbished products from the Apple Store, I am not interested in refurb products outside of apple.
Thanks in advance
Hey all,
I'm looking to buy a 14-inch MacBook Pro.
With the education discount I'm looking at $2k brand new and $1850 for certified refurbished directly at apple dot com.
Do you think it's worth the extra $150 to get a brand new one? After all I'm already spending a lot of money on a laptop and would like the laptop in pristine condition.
As title says. What are your thoughts on Apple refurb? My last/current MacBook Pro is a 2017 w/ Touch Bar that I got from Apple refurbished. She was fine until recently. Gets really hot and def can’t handle any editing workload (8gb ram). Had the battery replaced about 2 years ago. Happy to be upgrading to M series.
Has anyone had issues with refurbished products from Apple? I'm considering buying a refurbished iPad.
Hi all,
Does anyone know how often the Apple Refurbished store update? Last week I was looking at an M2 Max with 64gb ram for about $3000, but today only see an option for M2 Max with 32 gb ram for $2600. I would really like to get at least 64gb. Currently, the only 64gb options I see are for M1.
So I’m thinking of getting a Macbook 15 incher 2017, has anyone here bought a refurbished laptop from Apple and are you happy with it?
Thank you all for your advice, I´m going to the States for Work next month and I will be getting myself a refurbished Macbook pro.
