I just booked a reservation for The Standard and was hoping to get some second hand opinions on what people’s experiences were like. Food, seating, prices, customer service, etc.

We were just there for the chefs table on the weekend! First time there. Food was excellent, it was a 7 course tasting menu with each dish explained by the cdc. The palette cleanser and duck egg pasta were standouts though all of the dishes were well balanced, thoughtful, and executed well. Nothing was superfluous or trying to show off. Just well done, well presented dishes. Portion sizes were great too, especially considering it was a tasting menu. Seating for us was right in front of the open kitchen, though the space overall is pretty spacious. It was a little loud as it was full and busy, but service moved well. They got in the weeds a bit toward the end of our meal but more so just the line and chef needing to iron out their calls. Pricing was appropriate for what we got, and regular menu prices looked in the right ballpark for what you're getting. Maybe you could argue a couple dollars less per plate. There was a bunch on the menu id happily go back to try. The hanger steak seemed to be the most popular dish going out. The cocktails were great too. Really enjoyed the Derby Mule I had.

I went a few weeks after it opened and was REALLY impressed. Standout items were the bread, the dumplings, and massive crème brûlée - but it was all really good.

Located downtown, we sat outside and enjoyed our brunch at The Standard. We made reservations ahead of time which required a credit card. The food was delicious. The French toast was little undercooked, but everything else was great! The biscuit plate was very good. Interesting, seasonal menu that will keep you coming back for more.
