How 'Nightmare of the Wolf' sets the stage for 'The Witcher' season 2
August 24, 2021 - While Geralt trains Ciri at Kaer Morhen in The Witcher season 2, which is loosely based on Sapkowski's Blood of Elves book, the outside world will see "the Continent's kings, elves, humans, and demons strive for supremacy," per an official description. Since elves, like witches and mages, have extended lifespans, it's still possible that Kitsu and this mysterious child could have some part to play in Geralt's story. Theo James voices Vesemir in 'The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf'.

r/witcher on Reddit: Nightmare of the wolf is better than season 2 of the show
September 7, 2021 -
I enjoyed the animated movie and felt the writing was better thought out than anything in season 2, which is full of contradictions and pointless character arcs i.e the mages, fringilla and cahir etc. The film was able to demonstrate the horrors of the trials to become a Witcher and offered an interesting take on witchers becoming redundant in the world.
I particularly enjoyed Geralts character reveal at the end (the baldness threw me). I think more spinoffs like this would benefit the show massively, as there is little in the way of explaining context in the show.

Honestly, the vibe I get from both S2 and NotW is that their standard, or goal is to make something only a 14 year old would like. Neither tell a mature, nuanced, meaningful story. It's all hmmms, fucks, nudity, discount Yennefers (in both actually) and nonsensical plots.

Not big in anime. But it was absolutely dumb for nightmare of the wolf to ally monsters and humans.

How Nightmare Of The Wolf Ties Into The Witcher Season 2 - Looper
December 20, 2021 - Hissrich admitted in a recent interview with Screen Rant that they purposefully sprinkled easter eggs from "Nightmare of the Wolf" into Season 2 of "The Witcher." It'll be interesting to see how many diehard fans pick up on all of them, or whether the details will confuse the more casual fans who haven't bothered to watch the anime movie.
