"Sora" in addition to meaning sky, is also the word they use in Japanese for the space element (take a drink every time someone ominously says toki... sora... maboroshi in the Crossbell games). "Kiseki" (軌跡) meaning trail/path is also a homophone for 奇跡 meaning miracle which is used recurrently throughout the series. So "Sora no Kiseki" in addition to meaning "Trails in the Sky" also can be heard as "The Miracle of Space," aka the Aureole. Zero no Kiseki's true meaning isn't something you learn until the end of Ao no Kiseki, but it also makes use of the kiseki pun and basically just means a new beginning. Or that you the player are starting out from zero with a new party of characters. Ao is just blue or azure as they like to style it. There are a lot of azure things in the series from grass to stigmas to a certain divine knight. As well as, of course, the Sky, which Aidos is the goddess of. The depth of any possible link between these may continue to be explored in future games but for the most part it's simply referencing the final dungeon of the game. Probably the most straightforward of all the names. 閃の軌跡 turning into Trails of Cold Steel is the largest departure in naming so far. As others have said "sen" just means "flash," however sen- is a prefix often associated with war or conflict in Japanese so that's a minor double meaning. Likewise Cold Steel can evoke both railways or the gleam of clashing blades so it does share some common ground. But the true reason they chose 閃 doesn't become clear until the third game when it elucidates Rean's purpose in the empire of darkness Erebos. However even later in the third game, "Cold Steel" also proves to be a very fitting title for a different reason, and may even have been a happy accident. Very cool nonetheless. More on reddit.com
