Thermaltake Fans power cable
Thermaltake Riing plus RGB fan controller smoking.
How to connect my thermaltake fan controller to motherboard?
Did you read the manual for the case?
The case RGB may not be usable without the manual controller.

I have the thermaltake view 32 TG case that came with rgb fans that are controlled by a button on the motherboard. All of the fans are connected to the controller and there is a power cable that is connected to the motherboard, and a SW1 cable connected straight into the case. I wanted to connect the fan controller to my motherboard so they would synch with my other rgb parts. However the fan controller is connected straight into the case, it can be unplugged from the controller however I do not know what to do next. The other part of the switch cable is soldered into the case button.
Im working with the water 3.0 120 argb sync cooler with a msi b550 gaming puls motherboard. Couldnt fingure out how the cables would work. I didnt receive a controller with the cooler, but im asuming that i dont need one(?) Spent more than enough time searching for a tutorial but couldnt find an exact model. I figured out the cpu cooler connection and am lefy with three hanging wires that i have no clue with. Two thicker ones coming out of the fan, and a thin one from the cooler... can anyone provide some tips on how the cables work?? Thank you!
I received my custom build a few days ago and discovered I have no way to control the RGB features of the case, with the exception of the actual motherboard. That one, single, solitary RGB feature is working.
When I start TT RGB Plus, I'm immediately confronted with the following error:
So, I did some digging and found the issue might be that the Thermaltake RGB controller isn't installed properly. The lights on all of my fans are on, just uncontrollable. I don't know anything about setting up RGB, but I found/did the following things to no avail:
-
The 4 jumpers on the back of the controller that determines which controller is which were all set to "off". I noticed in about 99% of videos I watched that if you only have the one controller installed, the "1" is set to "on", so I did that. This didn't fix the issue.

I disconnected and reconnected the power (stopping the lighting service when I disconnected). The fans powered down. I reconnected the power and the fans powered back up, but the software still didn't recognize the controller when I restarted the lighting service.

I moved the USB 2 connection to a different USB 2 header. No change.
Then, I noticed something. In the following picture, there is nothing plugged into that mini-usb port on the controller (indicated by the red circle). There is, however, a connection on the exact opposite side of the controller (indicated by the green circle) that terminates at a USB 2 header on my motherboard. As far as I can tell, this is supplying power to the controller, because that's the thing I unplugged to power down the fans. Should there be something plugged into that mini USB port? Isn't that the data port? IBP didn't give me any other cables. Here's the pic:
Don't get me started on the lack of cable management...
If there is supposed to be something plugged into that port, what kind of cable is it and where would I go about getting one?
I truly appreciate any help you can offer!
