11 Free Things To Do In San Francisco - Meet Me Off Grid
January 20, 2025 - San Francisco is known as one of the most expensive cities in the United States so here are some things in San Fran you can do that are FREE! A fun little stop near the Golden Gate Bridge. Lover’s Lane is located in the Presidio of San Francisco Park. There is much more you can explore in this park: trails and nature, fun events, historic sites, and amazing Golden Gate Bridge views. I have only drove across the Golden Gate Bridge and honestly driving across it didn’t do much for me but I’ve been told from friends that walking or biking across it is definitely worth it.

The ticketed gardens in GGP are free for residents. The library has a “discover and go” pass that gets you free tickets to local museums and attractions. Riding a bike or borrowing a friends is cheaper than MUNI and keeps you fit. Answer from Shishtur on reddit.com

What are some unique/weird/interesting things to do in SF?
Here's a few ideas: Gregangelo museum (Into the Rabbit Hole tour) Musée Mécanique Audium SF crosstown trail I particularly like urban hikes (like the crosstown trail). It gives you an opportunity to see multiple neighborhoods and explore different parts of the city. Make your own by hopping on a muni train, get off near the end of the line, and start exploring! Underrated things to do in SF
Non-touristy would be explore neighborhoods that are more locals. That would be Cole valley, Noe valley, inner sunset, inner Richmond, and Valencia street in the mission. For hikes you can hike a few places in the city: twin peaks viewpoint is one of the highest. Touristy things would be going to pier 39 and fisherman’s wharf then over to crissy field and presidio tunnel tops with a stop by the palace of fine arts. More on reddit.com

The vibrant neighborhood comes alive after dark with its colorful lanterns, ornate architecture, and mouth-watering food. Stroll down the bustling streets lined with shops and restaurants, catch a traditional lion dance performance, or explore the many hidden alleys and side streets, each with its unique charm and character. Free + Cheap Attractions You Can't Miss In San Francisco
April 5, 2025 - Alcatraz day and night tours are by far the most popular paid San Francisco attraction. It’s our top recommendation for family, friends and our readers, and it’s also rated as the number one SF activity on Tripadvisor. We’ve personally taken both the day and night tours, both of which were fantastic. We don’t want to give too much away, but we can say that the NPS have done a superb job with the self guided audio tour of Alcatraz prison and grounds. If there’s only one thing you pay for during your visit to SF, make it Alcatraz.
