Hey fellow Thinkpad fans. Because I can't seem to stop adding more screen real estate, I picked up a usb-c hub this week from Lenovo for my Thinkpad P1. The current monitor I'm using to power my laptop has 90w rating on the outbound powerline to my laptop, which generally works fine if I'm not maxing my cpus for an extended period of time, but it is lower than the recommended wattage and so I get a warning on boot. The usb-c hub comes with a 90w power adapater which only delivers 60w to my laptop, but the hub indicates it can deliver 100w if I attach a 135w power adapter (**sold separately, womp womp **).
Now I'm not really looking to buy another power brick to get the extra power out of the usb-c connection but I also thinking dropping down to only 60w may be too much. I do have my P1's chargers which is a 170w slim tip adapter that I can plug into this hub, but my question is can I safely use the 170w adapter without burning out the hub? I'm pretty sure this would be fine and the power adapter and hub would know the right amount of juice to pull through the adapter to get all the power it needs without overloading any of the hardware, but I'd love to hear some confirmation that the 135w mentioned on the product details isn't a max wattage it can negotiate and just the minimum wattage to get the full 100w out of the usb-c hub and into my laptop over the single usb-c cable. Pic of the back of the hub for reference is below. TIA for any thoughts.
