Drivers for a dual monitor set up through a Thinkpad USB-C Gen 2 Dock for a newly built PC?
I have a T14 Gen 1 AMD. Firstly update the firmware of the dock. I use the Windows utility for that I am not sure if fwupd supports updating dock firmware. Check whether you've installed linux-firmware package. Mainline kernel should have drivers for all connections on the dock because with 5.10 and 5.11 all peripherals work fine. My ethernet and DP ports work but they are buggy on Linux. Both display and ethernet drivers have kernel bugs. Just wanted to add, I had the exact same problem (DP hub version : 0.00.000 and all), and the issue was really just that I needed a different USB-C cable. More on reddit.com

I've just built a pc and decided to install arch with no DE, just i3, on it. It's been a journey, but so far I've managed to get most things that I want up and running. However, I am struggling to get non-USB inputs (displays and ethernet) through my Lenovo usb-c dock to work. xrandr does not recognize the monitors or ethernet when they are connected through the dock, only when they are connected directly to the pc. However, my mouse and keyboard connected through the dock work perfectly. I installed libthinkusb and dockd through AUR as per the arch wiki regarding Thinkpad docks, and I also installed the kernel 8152-dkms module. My PC's usb c slot is part of the MSI B550 gaming edge motherboard, and according to the website is reversible so theoretically it should be able to receive display signals. Anyone have any ideas on what I'm missing? The dock works fine with my work laptop and my personal laptop thats running Linux Mint, so I feel like there must be some way to enable the non-USB inputs to be recognized by arch linux?

Did you install the displaylink drivers? Most usb-c docks that I've used need it to work.

On USB-C Dock Gen 2 two external monitors are connected to Display Port. However when laptop (T14s) is connected to the docking LAN, USB ports are available except those two external monitors. All the drivers updated by System Update. Laptop has Windows 10.
What can be the issue here? What step I could take to troubleshoot it?

My workplace is shared for my job and personal use, and I have two laptops, they are both a X270. But from yesterday, I am the proud owner of an X13 Gen1 (AMD).
I have a basic station dock to share the net and the monitor, when I and working with any laptop, but I may upgrade it is a USB-C dock station. It is compatible with both laptops, but I am not allowed to install software on my work x270. Do I need any drivers for this dock station? Can I see anywhere if this software is installed on it? I have never installed drivers on the basic dock station, but it is a very different device.
I can switch the X13 Gen 1 to an X390 or an X13 Gen 4 (Intel) if it is any help
