I'm trying to get into my very old apple account from years ago. I believe it was one of my first accounts but I couldn't remember the password so I went to forgot password, put in the email and it said the account is locked and can't be used. And the account uses an iCloud email. I don't know what to do. Is there any way to get into the account or am I screwed?

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for sharing additional info. Since there's no issue with your Microsoft account, the error might be caused by multiple incorrect password entry and it usually gets resolved after waiting for a couple of hours before retrying but if its still the same after a day, I suggest following the steps in the link below to help you troubleshoot.

Hi, Zephaniya.
I'm Jen. I'm an independent advisor and would happily help you figure this out.
Were you able to set up another sign in option like a PIN? If yes, try tp check if you have an option to change sign in option. If not, try signing in your Microsoft account using a different device to see if your Microsoft account is locked. If it is, you can send a verification code to any phone number to unlock it. You can get more info in the link below.

I have seen this happen in a win 2008 environment.
Once the user had mapped network drives on a machine which was not connected to the domain. The password expiry kicked in & access was denied.
Reset password and tried to login via a Domain PC. Kept getting the “Referenced Account is locked out”.Had to disconnect the mapped drives. Reset password and remapped the drives.
The second time i got this was when i had a PC which had the wrong DNS settings.
Check these out.
Good Luck
I have a remote user who’s Windows 7 computer is joined to our AD domain, however she uses the local account login. She is using VPN to connect to our network, and is trying to access a shared folder using her domain credentials, but is getting “the referenced account is currently locked out and my not be logged on to”. I did a Windows remote assistance session an saw it myself. I used my credentials and it logged on just fine. So it’s an account specific problem. I don’t think it’s a permissions issue as she has the same permissions as other people not having a problem, however it’s a permissions error. I checked her account and it’s not locked and is set to password never expires. Is there a setting on 2003R2 (I know, an upgrade is overdue) where an account can be locked out?
