I really am not sure what you are describing here. Unless fitting were bought from another country, pipe thread here in the states have always been NPT. National pipe thread in plumbing. You can find odd sizes in HVAC. If you copper pipe ihas threaded ends, I would assume that the fittings are sweated on. Just as easy to cut off or sweat off the old fittings and put new ones on. You would want to bypass any unnecessary inline threading and use copper couplings. I'm just swinging here because I don't understand your situation based on your description. Plumbing and Piping - Best way to connect threaded copper pipes? - I have a problem connecting threaded copper pipes - I get really small leaks. I teflon tape them, and plumbers goop (the toxic mustard colored stuff). I don't know if I tightened them enough though. Any suggestions? Deryk More on doityourself.com

Tub faucet replacement. Do they sell threaded copper pipes?

You can get a threaded nipple that you can cut. Get one end with a tapered thread so it seals in the elbow. Straight threads will accept the spout.

r/askaplumber on Reddit: OLD THREADED COPPER PIPE NIGHTMARE
August 7, 2024 -

I bought a condo built in 1973. It has threaded copper pipes everywhere, and the threads are all non-standard. EVERY SINGLE FITTING is loaded with a thick pile of blue PTFE tape and cross-threaded hard, creating an overlap of about 1 to maybe 1.5 threads that are actually engaged. So, apparently this is somehow standard and acceptable to the plumbers here, but this seems like a nightmare waiting to happen in my world. Even worse is that all the walls are solid concrete, and the shower head supply lines are sunk deep inside the concrete behind new 24" tiles, under a glass shower wall.

I know it's a fringe ask, but my dream is that I find someone who can make a custom fitting to actually thread properly on it and convert to the new standard size opening. OR somewhere out there is a "Non-Standard Plumbing Supply" that can help me find the rare parts and make something that works.

Any ideas or advice from the plumbing wizards that know? 🙏

April 12, 2004 - It was a copper 90 to threaded and I had to thread it. Oh well, I'll just need to fix it... Thanx again... Deryk ... With Mike here :Anytime you have to put adapters like CxM, CxF and the drop ear 90o L's you solder them on to the copper line first. Then dope and put the pipe in.

October 11, 2016 - Paul S. asked, "Has ever heard of screwed copper pipe? I have it on a job and sizes are way off. I guess it has the same OD as steel or brass screwed pipe." K.C. Jones: Can't help you with it, but I have seen this. According to the tour guide when they need work done it's a massive pain for their plumber. Danny Scully: My crew pulled this out of a bathroom remodel a few weeks ago. It's threaded copper!

How to thread copper pipe - Quora
Answer (1 of 9): If this is a plumbing question, you don't. You sweat on what's called a male adapter or a female adapter , depending on the threads required. Those threads would be screwed a brass or plastic pipe or into a brass or plastic fitting. Do not screw copper into or into steel, iron or...
