I saw that some websites sell hifi accounts much cheaper than tidal. Are these legit or is it all a scam?
Best Buy removed all Tidal subscriptions from their website today lol. Used to renew hifi plus family subscription every 3 months for $1, sometimes 1 cent! (on the same account)
Oh well, it was good while it lasted lol. Been doing it for over a year now, possibly close to 2 years.
Update March 22nd, 2024: Just got an email that my best buy subscription was canceled. It was a good 3 years of free Tidal HiFi Plus Family lmao.
I was searching for a good music platform, at first i thought paying for Spotify Premium, but it was a bit expensive, i also thought paying for YouTube Premium, which comes with YouTube Music Premium, until i saw that Tidal here in my country is REALLY CHEAP, and when i say really cheap, i mean it. It literally costs 400 Argentinian pesos (Around 0.4 $USD). I don't really care about the high quality music, i just want a cheap streaming platform that lets me play the music while the phone is off and that's it, so when i saw how cheap it is, i thought "Ok, i'll go with Tidal then", but... maybe i'm not using it the way i should if i pay Tidal's subscription, because the main idea of it is high quality music, and i don't care about it, so maybe i'm going to use it wrong, what do you think about it? Is it worth it in my case?
My 1 year subscription ran out and bought it from Best Buy.. now looking on Best Buy website there is nothing all. And I ain’t paying $26 or $20 a month it’s effing crazy.
Hi. As it's interesting to see how companies price their offers in various countries, I compiled a spreadsheet with information regarding Tidal's regional pricing.
Check it out here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E6r7IScdV2Ne8Zv5zbndCc98E7rTWbfr-BR8z600-EY/edit?usp=sharing contains colours based on price, up to date conversion rates, all plan prices within all countries and more.
Last updated April 1st 2025!
If there's a country missing, an incorrect price put in, or something that should be added, feel free to comment on the spreadsheet (or leave a comment here :>).
This spreadsheet is only for informational purposes, and you shouldn't use it to violate Tidal's TOS.
TIDAL pricing as of April 1st 2025.Is there a country where I can buy Tidal for less then 9,99€? If there's a way to get it cheaper, like a VPN, a server where they sell cheap family plans or something please comment.
I tried vpn to Argentina but they didn't accept my credit card.
Go the mexico route. Get a VPN, set location to Mexico and sign up. It's priced at 115 MXN which is about 6 bucks (40% discount). I know it's not as cheap as the dollar we were paying for with Tidal Argentina, but Mexico and the US are NAFTA countries so they cannot reject American credit cards like they can with Tidal Argentina. This also works with every streaming service and this will not and cannot legally change.
just an fyi
Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice on where I can find a cheap subscription for less than 5USD since Tidal isn't available in my country. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
Tidal has officially rolled out a new hi-res streaming plan today (April 10), combining its lossless audio and hi-res tiers into one new Individual plan for $10.99 / £10.99 / AU$12.99 per month. That's good news for hi-res music streaming fans like myself and cuts the monthly subscription price for access to Tidal's hi-res music content to the same price as Apple Music.
Tidal's HiFi and HiFi Plus subscription plans no longer exist — HiFi Plus subscribers will switch to the new plan automatically.
Currently subscribed to Spotify Duo (15.99AU$) and thinking to switch to Tidal Hifi (17.99AU$). The Tidal Hifi+ family plan jumps to 35.99AU$ which is a big increase in price, I'm aware you get MQA and Dolby Atmos (not keen on Atmos music), is the price difference worth it?
In this guide, I will explain a method I recently found to get Tidal for cheaper.
As you (probably) know, Tidal has blocked the ability to purchase Tidal through a VPN to Argentina unless you have an Argentinian credit card. But it is possible to bypass this by purchasing Tidal through the Android app. I will explain.
(There may be unnecessary steps here - this is a method I discovered on my own. I only tested it once.)
Important: I recommend reading the guide before starting.
Steps:
-
Download a VPN to your phone.
Keep VPN on until done!
Turn on the VPN and connect to Argentina.
2. Create a new Google account. You can do this by going to:
Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts > Scroll down > Add account > Google > Create account > For my personal use.
3. Switch to New Google Account:
After creating a new Google account, switch to it in the Play Store app (tap profile picture in top right corner).
Note: If you live outside the United States, the prices in the Play Store should be displayed in dollars. For those who live in the United States, there's nothing to do here - just hope the previous steps worked!
Additional Note: Prices in the Argentinian Play Store are displayed in dollars, not Argentinian pesos.
4. Download the Tidal App:
Download the Tidal app from the Play Store. If you already have Tidal on your phone, uninstall it and reinstall it. Important: Note that when you install Tidal, the Play Store needs to be on the Google account you created, not your main Google account.
5. Create Tidal Account and Onboard:
Once the installation is complete, go to Tidal and create a new account with the Google account you opened and perform the onboarding process.
6. Verify Subscription Prices:
After completing the onboarding, the upgrade screen will appear. If you were successful, the prices should be:
-
Individual plan - $1.35
-
Family plan - $1.99
Keep in mind that you are buying in USD.
7. Purchase Subscription:
Choose the desired plan. A purchase screen should appear within the app. Select the option to add a credit card and enter your card details. When you reach the step where you need to choose a country, choose Argentina. In Billing Address, enter the address of a random hotel in Argentina.
8. Complete Purchase:
Once you have added your credit card, purchase the subscription. If the price in the pop-up is $1.99 / $1.35, you have succeeded! Purchase and enjoy.
Some points to note:
-
The emails you receive from Tidal will be in Spanish. Deal with it.
-
You can transfer your music using tunemymusic.com
-
Secure Your New Google Account: I recommend not forgetting the Google account you created - it has a credit card on it. Enable two-step verification for the Google account, adding a phone and email to recover the account. In short - keep an eye on it! You wouldn't want someone to hack into your account and you wouldn't notice, especially since your credit card is stored there.
Good luck!
Hi there - Agustina, TIDAL product team lead.
Many of you have received (or will receive) an email notification from TIDAL informing you of important updates to our pricing and subscriptions. As loyal listeners and advocates for our artist-first vision and what we are building, I wanted to share some context on what’s changing and why.
On April 10, 2024, we’re updating our pricing for TIDAL globally. All of our premium audio formats will be available on a single subscription tier for $10.99 USD a month that we’re simply calling TIDAL. Two other significant changes are 1/ we are making DJ integrations available as a new add-on (to the individual TIDAL subscription) for $9 USD a month, and 2/ we are retiring our Military, First Responder and free plans. Let me share some context behind these changes.
We work with rightsholders to be able to provide reliable access to their catalogue - whether you’re listening to music on our app or accessing the TIDAL catalogue via our partners, including DJ software providers. Changes in our agreements with rightsholders impact our pricing. As it relates to DJ integrations: our latest agreements give us approval for DJ integrations, but not in a way that enables us to include them in our standard subscription. As part of this add-on, however, we’re bringing back stem separation and other new features built specifically for the DJ community - we’ll have more to share in the coming weeks! With regard to our Military and First Responder plans, we do not receive sufficient discounts from rightsholders to offer these plans.
We know that these changes will be well received by some, and be difficult for others. We made these decisions guided by our goal of making TIDAL accessible to more fans, while continuing to invest in creating new, meaningful sources of income for artists around the world.
Apologies if this post is not appropriate for the sub but figured some people might be interested to hear - I just received an email from Tidal saying their Hifi and Hifi plus subscriptions are merging and the new price is going to be $10.99 starting in April (down from $21 ish for Hifi plus).
Sharing only because I switched recently from Spotify and have been following the forever rumors of lossless Spotify streaming, etc. new price makes it an even more compelling offering imo.
(Not affiliated in any way except as a customer - just figured it might help some people deciding on their services)
