I've had the Tineco S3 since December now and thought it was time to do a review. The S3 is a "hard floor cleaner" basically a cordless vacuum mop with a rotating microfibre mop head, a washable filter, and clean and dirty water tanks.
I have a hobby farm and a long haired border collie dog. The previous owners made the terrible decision of cream carpet in the living areas, but the kitchen is vinyl and the bathrooms and laundry are tile. I was struggling to mop, somehow lacking the motivation to get it done after vacuuming the house. I have laid down a large piece of "woodplank" vinyl underneath a big playpen for my dog, and his area needed turning out and mopping weekly, but this was always an ordeal I dreaded. I also don't wear shoes in the house, so barefoot comfort was really important.
I have a variety of vacuums available to me, a canister Dyson, a Dyson V11, a Dyson V7, a Neato robot vacuum and a robot mop. On a day to day basis, I use the Dyson V11 almost exclusively. The canister lives in the garage, and the V7 in the laundry to clean the lint filter in my dryer. Since I moved house 3 years ago I have not taken the robots out of their boxes and their batteries are probably dead. I have an Enjo microfibre mop system.
I bought the Tineco S3 for $800 AUD (I think it's much cheaper in the US) as an impulse purchase--I had company coming for Christmas.
It has absolutely changed the way I clean my home. Before, mopping was something that was done only before company or after my guilty feelings piled up enough that I forced myself to do it--I always intended to mop out the dog's pen once a week but that would drag out. Now my hard floors get mopped daily or every second day, because it's easy and fun and the result is so nice.
It takes less than 10 minutes to do my kitchen, the dog's pen, my bathroom and laundry. I usually have to empty or refill the water containers once. I disassemble at the end of the day, wash the microfibre roller with bar soap, and put it on a windowsill to dry. The underfoot feel of the clean floor is amazing (a bit addictive!). I thought it would make less work of mopping--it hasn't, really, but instead my floors are much cleaner than they were and I am happier. I'm happier cooking things like broccoli and cauliflower, that always drop little bits on the floor, because I know they'll get cleaned up easily. I'm happy to take the dog to the beach knowing it picks up the sand from his pen.
When I have loads of visitors (sometimes as many as 10 kids and adults), I can run through the bathrooms really quickly and it picks up all the hair, water puddles, and any pee sprinkles.
It has reduced my allergies, and my dog's skin allergies, and massively reduced the amount of dust in my house (and therefore my dusting).
The charging station is set up in the kitchen and it is so great to grab it quickly and mop up any kitchen spills.
Practicalities:
Battery runs for about 20 minutes, but I've never run the battery out.
It does clean "flat" carpet and rugs although it's not designed for it.
If I miss 3 days of cleaning the dog's pen, I need to sweep or vacuum first because there's too much dog hair (my dog does shed an incredible amount).
None of the techy "smart" features work (it doesn't auto-detect dirt, it just randomly changes the speed and intensity at times), the self cleaning feature is incredibly annoying and nonsensical (it talks too much, and is very demanding, still needs to be properly cleaned afterwards).
Needs to be cleaned daily--common sense, but if you let it sit it will smell bad and eventually grow mould I'm sure. Microfibre is best cleaned with bar soap, not detergent or liquid soap.
Self-propelling function makes it incredibly easy to use, much easier than vacuums or sweeping.
Doesn't get particularly close to the edge of the wall, and is lopsided so that it gets closer on the right edge than the left edge, annoying, but my NYR is not to sweat the small stuff like baseboards and edges.
Turns itself off if you try and use it in an upright fashion, always needs to be on quite an angle to work, so bad for tight spaces.
I can't source the Tineco solution in Australia, so I use the Bissell Crosswave Pets solution, or plain water.
It comes with two heads and two filters, great! But doesn't give proper upkeep instructions. It alleges it is self-cleaning. It is not. Remove the head daily and wash with bar soap, squeeze off excess water, and leave to dry in a sunny spot otherwise you will end up with a really smelly bacteria-laden mop head.
Floors are left almost dry, and dry in a minute or two even on cold/humid days.
Sorry in advance, as these probably are not considered a buy it for life item, but none of the adjacent subreddits it’s really match…anyone have any experience with the Tineco brand? I have been eyeing the wet/dry vacuum specifically but their spot cleaner and slim vacuums are nice looking too.

We saw this at our local Costco yesterday for $349, it comes with a small handheld vacuum as part of a combo. Kind of like this : https://store.tineco.com/products/tineco-floor-one-s5-combo-cordless-lightweight-smart-wet-dry-vacuum-cleaner but the one at Costco is the "S3" and not the "S5".
Anyone know much about this vacuum? I tried looking here but didn't quite find anything.
I already have a Miele C3 Calima, but we have exclusively hardwood floors [mixture of real wood (living room) + Luxury Vinyl Plank (kitchen)] in our home.
It would be nice to get something that does mopping.
Hey there! Mom of two toddlers and 4 dogs with LOTS of hair. My brain is MUSH trying to figure out all the different series and models of Tineco.
Can someone please explain the difference S series and then all the different models?
I have quite a bit of LVP and tile in my house (5,000 sq) so I need something that can make it through large areas and also not damage my flooring while making cleaning easy.
How do you decide what model is the best fit for your home?
Anyone have any idea how to troubleshoot the dirty water full sign and the vacuum stopping after a few seconds of use? The whole machine is barely used for a couple of months and I have cleaned it very very thoroughly. It’s clean but I still get the dirty water tank full and the machine just doesn’t work. 🤷🏻♀️

Its ewaste the sensor is dead get a real mop
Hello,
I own a S3 since around 3 weeks. It was working like a charm. No I had not used it for about a week and soon as I start to vacuum it stops working after a few seconds and tell me "clean dirty water tank, clean debris channel". The dirty water tank is empty and clean. The debris channel is clean and free. I cleaned it with the brush that comes with the appliance and I also tested if water can rinse through, bouth works fine, that is also no debris viewable with a flashlight.
I tried to replace the roller, with the spare roller, the filter with the spare filter. Cleaned everything. I can't find any clogging and dirt left overs.
But no matter what I do, the message keeps repeating and I am not able to use the appliance. If placed on the station/stand I can start the cleaning cycle but all water is left on the stand instead of the dirty water tank. For some reason the appliance doenst seem to vacuum anything in.
I have guarantee so it is not a biggie, but I would be still looking for tipps how to fix this issue myself.
Thanks
My wife and I are looking at a tineco. I fully understand it is a decent at everything and not great at anything system. We have a toddler and a baby and time is limited to do both vacuum and mop.
Costco has the iFloor 3 Ultra for $250, Amazon has the iFloor S3 One for $250 currently.
What is the difference between these? My quick google search says the S3 one is better, but I don’t trust myself enough to not ask you all as well.
Is there reason to jump to an S5 or S7?
Thanks!!
My Tineco battery had gave in after a year and half, and it is out of warranty now. Purchased from Bestbuy Canada.
Looking to swap the battery but can't seem to find any online info on the battery specs. Tried the model code of the S3 Extreme as well and can't seem to get the specific battery for this exact model.
Are the batteries used the same across all the entire S3 series? I am just wondering if I can get a normal S3 or ifloor S3 battery and swap it in since these models appears to be using the same battery (S3 Extreme is has the charging base.)
Any info is appreciated. Thanks lots!
I have the Tineco S3 breeze. I've had it for about two weeks. Overall I like it but whenever I start cleaning it starts telling me to start self cleaning cycle within 3 to 5 minutes. Is this normal? Do I have to do multiple cleaning cycles in order to be able to clean all my floors?
Hi - I am looking for a cleaning solution alternative for the Tineco Floor one s3. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
I am looking for a vaccum with mopping function. I saw that the Tineco Floor One S3 has quite good reviews and fits my budget (~250€). I am interested to know how good it is with human hair. My GF routinely has lot of hairfall and a lot of the dirt on my floor is long hair. Will the S3 work well with it? Newbie question - is there a possibility to dry vacuum first before mopping? Does it function if I don't add any water? I am in Germany and have all hard flooring. Thank you!
I have the S7 and it does a great job with long hair, dog hair, cat, cat litter and assorted stuff that two teenagers drop...you do have to rinse after each use...I wouldn't give mine up but I think it's good to pair with another vaccum of some sort...

Hi Experts
For Black Friday i see these 2 vacuums are similarly priced. I am in Canada, so vacuums are not that cheap here.
https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/tineco-floor-one-s3-extreme-wet-dry-vacuum-blue/16474519
https://www.amazon.ca/Tineco-iFLOOR-Breeze-Complete-Self-Cleaning/dp/B0CRR8FJSD
I tried to figure out between these 2 which one is better but did not get much comparison.
I have mostly kitchen tiles+hardwood+area rug (no carpet).
Experts please advise.
TIA
Edit:
Budget: $250-$300
I just got the tineco s3 extreme and I absolutely love it. The thing is, my floors are these old weird tiles from the 60s, that are dimpled/textured. So we get them deep cleaned twice a year, and wax sealed. My floor cleaner guy is coming next week to deep clean them and seal them, which I assumed would make them easier to clean with the Tineco vacuum mop. Now I’m wondering if a wax sealed floor is safe to use the Tineco on, or if the Tineco solution would strip the wax off my floors. Video of the type of tiles I have.
I started my day wanting to buy the Tineco Floor One S3 but I see this shining new S5 model. I would prefer not to pay the extra $100 if it's not that much better. Thoughts ?
Hello there!
I'm planning to get a vacuum and I found this deal from tineco which is the floor one s3 bundled with a30s for $339. The floor one s3 is vacuum and mop combo while thr a30s just a vacuum.
Is $339 worth it for this deal? I believe it's only until december 2.
Thank you!
Edit: budget $350 Floor type : wood

I have a Tineco for quick pick ups. It works fine, but definitely requires more maintenance than my previous dysons. The filters need to be cleaned monthly or it will start dropping anything you pickup as soon as you stop vacuuming. I wouldn’t order one again and would just stick to Dyson for stick vacuums if you know that’s what you want.
