June 5, 2023 - This piano ballad was released by Barry Manilow in 1971, and it was based on chord progressions of Frédéric Chopin’s ‘Prelude in C Minor, Opus 28, Number 20’. Take That released a cover over two decades later, based on the Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder upbeat dance version in 1976. With Robbie Williams on lead vocals, it was one of the band’s first hit singles. Robbie and Gary Barlow later performed the song with Barry at a charity concert in 2013.

October 20, 2023 - His record sales declining, his image terminally naff, Manilow repositioned his music in the 80s: 2:00 AM Paradise Café was jazzy and downbeat. A man who served his musical apprenticeship in nightclubs and gay bath houses, he makes a convincing early-hours barfly, on a song based on an unfinished lyric by Great American Songbook writer Johnny Mercer. ... I enjoy all the songs you mentioned, but now my favorites are Weekend in New England, Mandy and Could it Be Magic? which I think are truly classic songs. Ships, Something in the Night and Somewhere Down the Road are some other really good songs that haven't been mentioned. For faster upbeat songs not mentioned, I am fond of Miracle and Daybreak. It's funny but I was a little boy when these songs came out and didn't think they were "cool" and too cheesy but now I see how beautifully arranged and moving the lyrics and melodies are and how excellent Barry Manilow's voice is with piano accompaniment. .

Top 10 Barry Manilow Funeral Songs
August 5, 2025 - One of Manilow's signature pieces, "Mandy" speaks of love lost and the lingering emotions that remain. With lyrics like "Oh Mandy, well you came and you gave without taking," it touches upon the selfless nature of love and the pain of saying goodbye. It’s of course our number one pick for Barry Manilow funeral songs.
