You can use it for 4-D and 5-D data (your case, if you unsqueeze a fake channel dimension).
However, the grid shape should be [N, H_out, W_out, 2], while you are passing 4 values.
Here is a small example of the usage:
N, C, H, W = 1, 24, 24, 24
x = torch.arange(N*C*H*W).view(N, 1, C, H, W).float(… Answer from ptrblck on discuss.pytorch.org

Pytorch resize 3d numpy array - vision - PyTorch Forums
February 19, 2020 - Dear all, I have 3d image and I would like to write a dataloader with a rescale trasformation . What is the best way to do the rescaling? I have [240,240,180] I would like to trasform [128,128,128]. Any suggestion on function for dataloader. Thanks so much class Resize(object): def __init__(self, output_size): assert isinstance(output_size, (int, tuple)) self.output_size = output_size def __call__(self, sample): image, label = sample["data"], sample["l...

r/pytorch on Reddit: Resize 3d tensor
July 22, 2023 -
I want to resize my [512,512,96] tensor to [64,64,64]. Torchvision.transoforms.Resize only works with the last two dimensions
image = T.Resize(64)(image) turns torch.Size([512, 512, 96]) to torch.Size([512, 341, 64]) ???(no idea where the 341)
image = T.Resize((64,64))(image) turns torch.Size([512, 512, 96]) to torch.Size([512, 64, 64]) .
image = T.Resize((64,64,64))(image) throws this error
If size is a sequence, it should have 1 or 2 values
Any ideas, besides iterating over all the images in a for loop and concatenating them
[Info Need] How resize 3D volumetric data?
For 3D volumetric data, how we can resample (upsampling and downsampling) in pytorch? For example: [ format: (bs, h, w, depth, channel) ] original_input = (None, 256, 256, 40, 3) upsample_output = (None, 512, 512, 80, 3) dnsample_output = (None, 128, 128, 20, 3) I’m trying to use it for 3D ... This is what you need to decide when you give the mode parameter. The default value (if you do not specify) is nearest.
For the case where you divide the size by 2, means that every even (or uneven) row/column will be dropped and the value will be taken from the nearest values. Which would be the a…

You can use torch.nn.Upsample.
But your data has to be in one of the following formats
[image]
Here is the documentation. Here you can see HOW you want to do the interpolation, since it will change if you use nearest, bilinear or something else.
Hope this helps :smile:

June 19, 2025 - The easiest way to resize images in PyTorch is through the transforms module. Both are then typically augmented through the use of random rotations, flips, and deformations. Compose can be used with a series of transforms that take a dictionary that contains ‘image’ and ‘label’ entries. This might require wrapping torchvision transforms before passing them to compose.
