I've been fined with a ticket by Automated Speed Enforcement System camera 🤦🏻♂️, and I have been unsuccessful in paying it online. The portal in https://www.paytickets.ca/ expects an 8 character 'offence notice' number, but what I have in the ticket is of the following format:
3161-XXX-XX-NXXXXXXX-XX
The X's are numbers (and the first four digit represent the city). I've tried different variants of this number in the portal but it either returns as invalid number or not found. Has anyone been through this ordeal before and if so could you help me figure how to make the payment 🙏🏼? The other option is snail mail, which is unreliable.
Hey everyone,
Is it usual to get a 'Convenience Fee ' added to a speeding ticket when we try to pay the ticket online? I'm trying to pay a 75$ ticket using toronto.ca's automated speed enforcement system subsection, and was surprised to see a 3.5$ convenience fee added on top of the fine.
This is my first ever speeding ticket, and it was issued by an automated speed camera for driving at 61 km/h in a 50km/h zone. The ticket wasn't available to pay for a few weeks, and I had to follow up a couple of times with the City to get it available in the system.
I'm going to pay the ticket and move on, since its my mistake breaking the speed limit. However, I just want to check if this 'convenience fee' was something that's been always there, or if its something that was introduced recently.
Thanks!
