(Today is Monday, March 8th, 2021)

So I was supposed to get delivery on Saturday, but it still said In Transit the whole day Saturday, which I found out was most likely due to that most UPS doesn't ship on Saturdays. I was hoping it would come on Monday since it missed delivery day (Saturday). Then the next day comes on Sunday (yesterday) at about 1PM the 'In Transit' status turned into 'Delay'! https://i.postimg.cc/gkCWkq9F/image-1.png

So yesterday, I used the UPS robot virtual assistant to get the status of my package(why is it being delayed) and it said "A train derailment has delayed delivery. We're adjusting plans to deliver your package as quickly as possible." https://i.postimg.cc/43ZRpfNW/image-2.png

So first UPS doesn't deliver on Saturday, and now my package is being delayed (Status changed yesterday (Sunday) at 1PM)... Does anyone have experience with this? How long will it be delayed? There is currently no estimated date, it just says check back tomorrow and it's been saying that since 1PM Sunday (yesterday)... Any ideas?

EDIT: It is now 10AM on Monday and doesn't say 'Out for Delivery', it still says 'Delay' (because of a train derailment).

EDIT #2: Okay it's now 11AM on Monday and doesn't say 'Out for Delivery'. I guess I'll just wait a few days and hope for the best.

EDIT #3: Okay it's Monday night (at about 10 PM) my UPS tracking JUST updated and my package is now back 'In Transit' and it should arrive tomorrow.

Just depends on the derailment. Could be minor. Could be severe. Just depends on what exactly happened

As a UPS employee I don’t blame you for being frustrated. Understand UPS doesn’t own a single train, they put their trailers on train cars and hire railroads to move them, I assure you UPS is just as upset that their contractor failed them and in turn has failed you and thousands of other customers that were loaded on the same train. We don’t use trains here in the Northeast so I have no idea how long a delay might be, but other UPS employees in the western part of the country might be able to help.
