I understand its a cultural thing but I never got why you want to ruin weed with tobacco or worse still, "herbal" blends. Who knows wtf is in that and if its safe to smoke. Even when I smoked cigs I would never mix it in a joint, even with shit weed. Imagine mixing some really great tasting medical buds with tobacco. Blahh, totally ruin it

Guys.. This kinda stuff is for novelty value only. Please, for the love of health, do not use that for protection!
On a side note, I once bought a 'glow in the dark condom' from one of these shops in Amsterdam. And yes, after I got home I did put it on in a dark room, all the while making the light-saber sounds while slicing the air with my luminescent manaconda.

I really tried to google it both in Dutch and English, but found nothing. I assume that this is 100% not natural, jus an art of growing trees. Are there any photos of the process? Was it carried out by the Gemeente, or just locals? Why is it the only street with trees like this?

My neighbor claims their grandmother grew up nearby and had the following explanation. It was planned that way, they guided the trees to grow like that, and it was actually a common practice through Amsterdam before the second world war. You can see similar patterns (although not as dramatic because the street is wider) on the long straight road in the northwest part of Vondelpark. Apparently there were dozens of streets that were planted like this, but during the occupation during the war, people cut down trees in the streets for firewood to keep warm. The only street people dared not go to cut trees down was Lomanstraat, because that is where the Nazi officers stayed. I haven't tried to verify any of this myself (for instance, it should be possible to verify that Nazi officers did, in fact, stay on Lomanstraat), but that is what my neighbor said his grandmother told them.
