I purchased the Tresanti motorized sit/stand desk from Costco 4 months ago, and I think I found out why it was such a great deal compared to other desks.
This morning, it wouldn't move up from lowest position. It says "top" after about a half second movement, maybe 1/4". There is a new sound on the left side that sounds like a loose clunking. I would guess there is a mechanical sensor that is supposed to stop the desk at the top of movement, and perhaps that is loose and triggering too soon.
Anyway, that's just a guess, and I'll probably take it apart to try and fix. Since the desk is no longer in stock, Costco will take a return disassembled via UPS and assembled if I take it to the store. Other sit/stand desks are several hundred more than this, so trying to fix seems worthwhile.
Has anyone experienced this?
Edit: This post has helped so many more people than I could have imagined. I was able to fix. One of those three appears to be a sensor that stops motor at top/bottom. It’s the ~1/8” jack looks like headphones. Unplug that one only, move desk up a bit, then plug back in.
FWIW Tresanti sent me a motor replacement before even talking to me about the issue, then I found out how to fix it while it was in the mail. Free extra parts?
My guess is the desk moved past the sensor and sensor is tripped while moving it back up.
This just fixed my desk 4yrs on still saving the day!
My Tresnati desk from Costco is not working and the customer support has been pretty terrible so far, they want to create a ticket with ALL my contact details just to help...it feels scammy. Does anyone have a fix for the "E3" error or the TOP error? My desk is currently stuck in standing position and I can't fix it.
So a few years ago, this desk was sold at Costco, and since then it seems several people have had issues with it.
In the first case, the circuit board falls out of sync with the stepper motor, which is easily solved by moving the desk all the way up with the 3.5mm jack disconnected.
However, in my case, the circuit board was stuck at "BOT", preventing the desk from going down and moving the desk up any significant amount resulted in a "E3" error code, indicating no signal from the motor.
CS will automatically assume that this means the motor is bad and will offer you a new motor under warranty. This will work if the motor connector is loose or the motor is stuck. However, in my case it was the desk-side connector that was loose, as evidenced by bending the connector with my hands fixing the issue.
Repairing this requires cutting off the rubber housing with a box cutter, removing the pins with one of these and then crimping on new Minifit Jr pins with a Molex crimper. I also recommend some heatshrink and Sugru to seal up your work. If you do custom cabling for desktop computers you should already have the necessary tools, otherwise you will most likely have to buy.
Hello. I just bought the Tresanti Adjustable desk from Costco about 3 weeks ago. Recently I just shifted it a bit and it is now not working. I plugged a type C charger on it after moving it, and started hearing some clicking noises coming out of the motor. Unplugged the charger as it was no longer charging. Then I unplugged the desk to see if the noises would stop. After a couple minutes the clicking sound stopped, however the desk is giving me an E3 Error. I tried unplugging the Headset looking cable several time but the error code still shows. Not sure what to do as now all my desk does is shows "bot" then a few beeps and after that the E3 code. Anyone who knows how to fix this? greatly appreciated.
Just got my new tresanti desk from Costco and have had nothing but problems ever since turning it on. Constantly getting E3 errors and now it’s all the way up but it says it’s “bot” so I can’t go down. Tried reset but that doesn’t do anything. Anyone have this problem? Gives me E4 and E3 which both say are about power. Can’t figure it out. Decided to go to bed. Hoping for better luck tomorrow.
I need help troubleshooting my brand new tresanti desk I got from Costco (haven't even worked a day yet with it).
It appears that the measurement is off on the desk meaning when I press down it says "bot" but the desk is in a standing position (probably was 40ish inches when I put it in this place). My preferred sitting height is where it usually would bottom out, but now I can't get it to go down.
I've read the other troubleshooting posts and when I disconnect the headphone-like jack it disconnects the power to the controls so I can't move the desk. If I move the desk up as high as it will go it eventually sends an E2 error and never reached 'top."
Does anyone have experience with this issue? The desk is functioning fine (no unusual sounds, feels smooth), it just has the height counter wrong.
TLDR; my new desk says its at 'bot' when it really is a standing position and I need help resetting the height orientation. TIA
I just purchased a Tresanti Geller standing desk from Costco. See the photo for the area in question, but the desk no longer stays standing. It will keep lowering over time until it is at the bottom position. My guess is there is not enough power going to the motor or the motor is broken. If I leave the desk elevated and unplug it, the desk rapidly lowers as well.
Does anyone have any advice on this/experienced this before? I've owned this desk for less than 3 weeks now and I'll be very disappointed if I need to return it.
I have got no power in my Tresanti desk since this morning. I tried plugged off power cable and two other connectors for several minutes and then plugged in again but still no power. I only hear some sound probably from the motor but no power at all! Any suggestions? It's still pretty new and only few months in use. Also what's Tresanti US customer support number? Thanks!
My tresanti desk is almost one and a half years old now and it’s been working so well this entire time. Last night at like 4 AM I was raising it but the cord got caught on something and the thing in the image I attached got disconnected. I’ve tried to reconnect it in a bunch of different ways but it’s still not working and it’s now stuck at an awkward standing height. Would appreciate any help 😭
I got the tresanti desk this morning from Costco, and I thought it was working well. However, I noticed that it was slowly lowering over time (rod moves).
I only have 2 monitors and a keyboard on the desk, weighing no more than 40 pounds.
Any insight is appreciated. I'm returning this one tomorrow and would like to exchange it for a different one, but I don't know if it'll be worth the effort if this issue arrises again.
Title. I should have another ~30-40 lbs or so before I'm at the 100lb weight limit, yet over ~10 minutes the desk will go from fully extended to fully retracted without any input from me.
Anyone run into this? Possibly a bad unit? Is the 100lb weight limit more like 50-60 lbs?
*edit. I took off almost everything and only have ~30lbs on the desk and it is still very slowly is descending.
I bought the Tresanti desk last night and today I noticed the desk is not holding the height I place it at. I have pressed the lock button thinking that might help but it did not. Underneath the desk I can see the metal bar rotating slowly as the desk losses height.
I currently have 2 laptops and a 49 inch screen sitting on the desk along with a keyboard and the mouse. The manual says the table can hold up to 110 pounds and I think my current setup is below the max weight. Is there anything I am missing?
Has anyone had this issue?
Does anyone have the Tresanti Adjustable Height Desk with a newly dead charger? We have two of these and on Monday, one of the wireless chargers stopped working. Looks like I need to haul it back to Costco. Anyone else experience issues with this?
