This probably sounds stupid but how do I deposit cash at the bank? I’ve never had to do it myself since my dad was a shareholder on my savings account while I was in college. If I needed money or to deposit cash/checks he would just take it for me when he went. I’m a server so I have cash I want to deposit but I’ve never done it myself. Can I deposit through ATM or drive thru? Or is it best to go inside? I have really bad social anxiety especially when I go into something blind so I guess just looking for advice. Also is their anything besides the cash and my ID that I need to bring?

As a former teller for Truist, always take your cash inside or thru a drive thru and have a teller deposit it for you. Make sure to bring your debit card and ID with you as well. Just let them know which account you want to deposit into and be sure to get a receipt. I would not use an ATM unless it’s absolutely necessary. I’ve just seen too many situations where an ATM miscounted the cash and that’s a problem you want to avoid. Don’t be nervous! Some of the friendliest people I know are tellers at Truist. You’ll do great! 😊

It means the ATM is full of cash and/or something with the depository section is broken. You can always try a different ATM or wait a couple of days. They may only be serviced a couple of times a week. More on reddit.com

Has anyone had issues with their atm not taking a check deposit or cash deposit? I was just at a Truist atm where I usually have problems depositing checks but this time it worked but it did not take my cash I tried at least 7 times and it would spit it back out I tried just my 30s then my 50s then my 100s and then the cash all together, nothing would work. Ironically this time it did take my check, which it never happens. I haven’t tried any other branch as the only other atm is on the other side of town and didn’t feel like driving over there. Can anyone else relate to my issue? This has been going on for years
