For all of you out there who might have issues with the TT RGB Plus software not recognizing your controller (Especially you with an AMD CPU)
Here is a link for the 1.3 version of the software https://file.thermaltake.com/file/software/TTRGBPlus_Setup_133_x64.zip
This is one of the most stable versions, according to reddit.
Once you download it, make sure you disable automatic updates
Unplug your controller from the PSU molex connector (FROM THE CONTROLLER'S END) while the software is open, then plug it back in, it should recognize it now.
Then go to Task Scheduler (search it on the Windows search bar on your task bar) Find the task associated with the software (most likely named TT RGB Plus) and disable it by right clicking and selecting "disable"
Hopefully this will help you all.
Stay positive and faithful to the PC Master Race!
Hey, I recently rebuilt my PC and added a couple more TT RGB Plus products to my case in the process.
My case has had 5 Riing Plus RGB fans plugged into the 5 port controller that comes with this 3 pack: https://www.thermaltake.com/riing-plus-12-rgb-radiator-fan-tt-premium-edition-3-fan-pack.html
I also have upgraded my RGB fittings from the original non addressable version to the Plus version: https://www.thermaltake.com/pacific-rgb-plus-tt-premium-edition-g1-4-petg-tube-16mm-od-12mm-id-fitting-6-pack-fittings.html
I have also switched to this CPU cooler, which has no issues being detected in TT RGB Plus software 2.0.5: https://www.thermaltake.com/pacific-mx2-ultra-cpu-waterblock.html
For reference I had no issues with TT RGB Plus 1.0 software and my 5 Riing Plus Fans + the OG Pacific RGB fittings for years. Once I rebuilt my PC and added the above TT products, I started having these issues.
The first time I turned on my PC after rebuilding, I booted up TT RGB Plus 2.0.5. I saw my original 5 fan controller but not the new controller for the fittings (plus an additional Riing Plus fan I had). I tried rearranging how the controllers were connected and ever since that first boot I cannot detect ANY of my controllers. I have read the past posts here about this and tried only connecting one of the controllers, having only 1 controller per Molex rail, disconnecting and reconnecting everything.
Here is how I have it connected to my PC currently:
USB Header -> Pacific MX2 Ultra CPU block & RGB Plus Fitting Controller
USB Header -> 5 port RGB Controller
I have tried the daisy chain connector, with the micro usb end plugged into the 5 port controller. It seems that the older controller doesn't have the port for this newer cable to be connected the other way around. I am open to any suggestions here, I would hate to have half my RGB not even on. I know many of you are unfortunately very knowledgeable when it comes to dealing with TT RGB Plus software issues, and your help much appreciated. Please ask if you need pictures or more information. Thanks!

Anyone else having this problem? I've tried many combinations of connecting the controllers, and they're initially detected. But after a restart or 2 they all end up inconsistently working with the software. It's not the usb ports on my mobo because everything else connected to the usb splitters work consistently. I have 2 controllers and rarely are they both detected. Sometimes it's controller 1, other times controller 2. Sometimes both are not detected. I'm so sick of half the lights being rainbow. Is there a way to permanently disable the rgb? I can't believe TT charges so much for a garbage product. Major regrets.
I have an expansive TT RGP setup (lots of fans, pumps, fittings, powersupply, etc). I've gotten everything setup correctly (some components use Gen 3 controllers, some use the newer Trio/Quad controllers), and I've had it working perfectly many times. However, randomly controllers will stop showing up in the software, often after a reboot or waking from sleep, though also sometimes just randomly when the rig runs.
When this happens, it is 100% random which controller drops off. I have 5 controllers hooked up, sometimes it will be just 1 or 2, sometimes it will be all except 1. The one that remains is often the 1st controller, but right now it's the 5th. When the controllers are gone from the menu, all RGB settings return to their default pattern.
I've checked connections, messed and re-seeded some of the controllers. It seems to work correctly about 70% of the time from a hard boot with power turned off, almost never works from coming back from sleep, and is a crapshoot on a soft reboot. There does not seem to be any pattern or reasoning behind why it can go from working absolutely perfectly one second, then losing connection in the next.
I'm running on 1.3.8 because 1.3.9 has a critical bug where the controllers will constantly lose all their settings after each restart, one that makes the software unusable. I'm using DPS G v 3.2.9, which hasn't had any issues since I got it installed properly, and always seems to run the sync correctly, regardless of my fans/pump/block/fittings freaking out.
Without listing each component (there are lots), I have a combo of trio and quad fans, W-4 waterblock, RGB fittings (which suck btw, already had multiple break during install due to really bad wiring, even when done by a professional, don't waste your $100...), RGB Pump.
Welcome any thoughts or help.
Not sure this will help you but I don't get controller loss anymore: When this happens:
- go to 'Device Manager/Human Interface Devices' and look for the 'USB Input Device' that has an exclamation mark on it. That's your failed controller.
- Disable device and then Enable device (TT RGB Plus will see them again)
- Go the the Power Management tab of that device and uncheck 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'
- I also have fast boot disabled in the bios since I've had fickle usb device detection in the past.
Ya, know the boxes are different and used the correct boxes for the correct equipment. I just can't figure out why, at times, the software stops recognizing specific boxes for no reason at all.
The thermaltake rgb plus software isn't detecting my tt sync controller, I have the power plugged in and the pwm connection to my cpu 1 header, why isn't this working? Shit's frustrating cause I got this stupid fucking thing purely to be able to use the software for the tt pacific tf2 and it doesn't work
I just bought a 3 pack of Pure Plus 12 fans from Best Buy, and TT RGB Plus is not detecting the controller. I have seen a lot of things saying that this product doesn't work so great with Ryzen CPUs and that is indeed what I have (ryzen 5 2600). However, I tried plugging the controller into the usb ports in the rear and front I/O panels and it still went undetected. I have an Asrock B450m HDV R4.0 and I have tried both it's usb headers. The fans run fine and light up, but just the software will not work. The micro usb cable does work when connected to the motherboard since it charges my wireless headphones. I have also tried controller the software from my laptop with an Intel processor and it still does not detect the controller. Please help.
So the title explains it pretty well, I have nine TT fans connected using their 9 port controller. They fans and lighting can be co trolled by armory crate. However the TT software says it cannot detect the controller, this repeats every time I have reset the software and attempted to detect the controller again. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled a clean stable version. For the rest of the hardware the controller is plugged into an ASUS z690 strix gaming Wifi-A. The fans and a limited amount of rgb can be controlled via armory crate and the bios, as mentioned above. If anyone has had this issue or can think of a fix I could use some help. Thanks
Hello,
I've got 2 set of 3 riing quad with 2 controllers.
Both installed properly. I've tryed the Y cable, separate cable, cable directly on the case etc etc. Everything.
But still in the TT RGB Plus I can only see one controller and control only one of both.
When I unplug the controller that is working, all the setup (colors and fan speed) goes to the other controller.
So the controller is properly installed and it's working. Just a bug from TT RGB Plus.
It's so sad to get that kind of bug when you pay 300$ for fans...
Any idea ?
Hello all, i currently have a thermal take view 51 case with 9 riing trio fans installed. Unfortunately I cannot get the fan lights to sync up to the motherboard, and cannot control the color at all. They just stay in the default rainbow color. I have them connected to 3 of the 5 pin controllers that were included with the fans but those only connect to the jusb port on my Msi 590 ace motherboard, which is not a listed option in Msi center to control. I’ve also tried thermal takes TT plus but none of the controllers will detect in it. Im really at my wits end on this, I don’t want to get a new case or fans because I like my current setup but I just can’t get it to work right for some reason.
The title is fairly self explanatory, but for some one details, i have the ARGB View 51 pc, and i cant get the fans it comes with to work with the software. one detail i don't know matters is that the fan controller im using to connect them is one that came with a corsair AIO that i use with both fans. I think this may be a problem, but im not sure. help? (also if you want any other details you can ask in the comments)
Did you tried checking your BIOS? You should be able to set the fans over there.
I know this problem, I feel your pain. Start Device Manager and look under Human Interface Devices. There is usually a USB device there with an error beside the icon. Double click the icon and go to driver tab, then disable and enable the device. it usually starts working again. If that doesn't work, you can also update the driver, just search automatically and use the same, recommended driver. Hope this helps. It works for me.
I am having the exact same issue as many others, and I am completely fed up.
I did a FULL Re-built from Intel to AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, on a MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk. I have 9 TT ARGB Pure fans connected to the TT Fan Controller. I get the same error, and all BIOS and AMD Chipset is updated.
The fans light up and spin, so it proves something is working, but still, software does not detect my controller that is in the JRAINBOW header.
Complete waste of money and lost faith in a company that I initially had a lot in
TTRGB Plus do not work
LCD Connection issues (device not recognized)
Fans work, RGB work, but program does not work.. I see this story goes back to 2021. https://community.thermaltake.com/index.php?/topic/250595-tt-rgb-plus-v2-error-can-not-detect-controller-please-check-that-the-fan-controller-is-connected/ But there is no solution, I am in trouble, even the latest version did not help me TT RGB PLUS Software.
V2.1.9 2025-01-13
Hey guys!
Im new to watercooling, but I still went ahead and managed to complete my loop. However, when I opened my TT RGB plus I got the error: ''Can not detect controller, please check the Fan Controller is connected. (Error Code:H_0x0001).
Im not sure what it means, and how to fix it. I was also unable to sync it with my Razer Synapse.
My motherboard is MSI Tomahawk B450 MAX.
Any bit helps. Thanks a lot!
I'm trying to daisy chain 3 controllers. Controller1: has 3 riing quad fans and TT DP100-d5 so 4/5 channels used. Controller one is connected to motherboard directly. It is then daisy chained to controller 2. Controller 2: has 3 Riing Fans and then daisy chained to Controller 3. Controller 3 has 4 riing fans. Controller 1 is using same molex wire as TT DP100-d5. Controllers 2 & 3 are connected to same molex cable. PSU I am using is TT toughpower GF3 1200W. I'm using latest TT RGB plus software.
Only controller 1 is being recognized. At one point all three were recognized but on computer restart, reverted back to only one being recognized.
Thanks I'm tired of rainbow vomit.
I have 2 of the Riing Quad 20's in my case that a set up a about a month or 2 ago and for the first 2 weeks TT RGB PLUS was fine but after that anytime I launch it, it doesn't recognize my fan controller. After I restart my system and launch it, it works but doing that every time is mad annoying. TT RGB is version 2.1.5, does anyone have a solution?
