Linear tub filler with handshower
Using the hand shower on a stand alone tub filler.
Eh that depends on the handshower and how much water pressure / how big of a spray you want. My shower head is 2.5gpm and 7” across so you get a really nice luxurious spray... the handshower is only 2.0gpm and has a little 1”x2” spray area so it’s really only good for targeted rinsing and cleaning the tub.

For those with free standing tubs, what tub filler do you have??

My husband and I are a GC currently building a house for ourselves. We have a freestanding tub and wanted a linear wall mounted tub filler like the one pictured. Only problem is that it doesn’t appear that ANY of the major brands (delta, moen, pfister, American standard, etc) make something like this.
Since we really didn’t want to mess with an off-brand plumbing fixture we decided to just use a universal delta tub & shower valve with the diverter on the tub spout and a separate handshower that we purchased online. Well of course we forgot a crucial detail of how this valve works! It can’t operate properly with the valve in a straight line with the tub spout and handshower. The tub spout is meant to be BELOW the valve and the shower part is meant to be above. So now that the house is finished we’ve got a big problem.
Currently trying to find a solution and the only thing I can think of is to replace the entire setup with one of these off brand products, which we really don’t want to do!
Any other ideas??? Does anyone know of a high quality valve that can operate in a straight line like that, with the diverter on the handle trim as opposed to on the spout? I see that delta makes “diverter valves” with the diverter on the handle trim as opposed to the spout, but do they operate the same way? Can it work if we put the spout and handshower in a straight line with it?
