Hi, I'm trying to create a digital image of a logo from my grandfathers peanut company. There is no digital version since the original was created by hand on pen and paper in the 60's. I've scanned a copy of the logo , http://imgur.com/X304ae2 , but I'm not sure what the best way to turn it into a fully usable logo.
I was going to just add a layer and trace over the image but I have to think there must be a better way? Since it is a scan the lines aren't very clean which is giving me some additional issues.
Would illustrator be a better program than photoshop?

Hi, all!
Would anyone happen to have any advice as to how I would go about turning an image into a graphic/logo?
The picture is of a wax seal that my partner and I used on our wedding invitations (it’s an E and an M kind of on top of each other)- image in comments.
We need a flat image to send to our photographer that he can use for the cover of our wedding photo album, and I’ve been fiddling with it and wracking my brain for an hour and have determined that I’m just a goof who should ask the professionals for suggestions.
Any advice would be very, VERY much welcome!

Do you want the wax seal to be part of the graphic? Or just the E and the M?

The best way to do it is to do it yourself on a design program like Adobe illustrator or Canva The easy/lazy way you can also do it is to: Take your photo and scan it using CamScanner (the wax might lead to an imperfect scan, so you can try drawing it on a piece of paper and then scanning it using the CamScanner app on your phone) Send yourself the photo on a computer and open it in a design software. Assuming you're not a designer, you probably won't have professional software, so Canva would be fine. Open Canva (you need to sign up) and upload your scanned photo there Now trace over your scanned image using the line/shape tool 4.1) if you're unable to trace over it, you can instead find some AI Vectorizer software that could convert your scanned image into a vector art. This won't look perfect but it's as close as you can get using the lazy way I guess you can also find a free monogram maker online. Just type the letters you want to include and it might show you some options - and you could probably find something similar to yours
