Hi All,
I'm very new to mason jars and appreciate any guidance on my question. I'm specifically using mason jars to storage dry goods that I will frequently use (spices, tea, nuts, etc.); I'm not using these jars for canning. My question is about the type of lid I should use.
I understand that there are generally 3 types of lids available.

The classic 2 piece lid from Ball (the ring and the seal with the rubber).
For example: https://barsupplies.com/mason-jar-lids-12-pack-1.html
2) The 1 piece lid (no rubber on the inside and looks to me like any lid on a normal container).
For example: https://masonjarlifestyle.com/product/aluminum-storage-lid-regular-mouth-mason-jars/?gclid=CjwKCAiAjMHwBRAVEiwAzdLWGLU1LPAZdzm-ki0jsKtxaYWs7ochh9lYNwAtymeKFBdGMhkZim00oBoCCNwQAvD_BwE
3) The "bail lid" typical of the European design, such as Rocco.
For example: https://www.target.com/p/ball-38oz-sure-seal-glass-mason-jar-with-wire-bail-lid/-/A-51335082
My question is: are all 3 lids functionally the same for airtight storage? Is one better than the others?
For example, if I'm storing loose leaf tea, would a particular lid keep the flavor and freshness of the tea longer?
TLDR are the 3 types of mason jar lids (2 piece, 1 piece, bail) functionally the same for purposes of storage (not canning).
Thanks in advance!
i am new here and i am trying to find the difference between a normal lid and a Split type canning lid, i couldnt find anything online. i think i am maybe asking the wrong question and that is the reason i cant find anything. i found this subreddit and thought this would be the best place to find out about it so if someone could point me in the right direction i would be grateful.
