Hi so I downloaded upwork and applied for a few jobs.. I got selected for a typing job but they contacted me via telegram.. and they offered a typing job to be completed within 48 hours. And the payment is huge, how can I check if it's legit!
90% of the time, if the offer is too good to be true, then it’s too good to be true.
Most of the time, typing jobs are scams.
Another red flag is that they are contacting you off the platform so platform won’t be held liable.
Lastly you can check the upwork website for their rating and how many jobs they have given via upwork as well as if their payment is verified.
In case you take the risk, don’t pay anything if they ask you. Don’t give out too many personal details.
More on reddit.comHi! I’m quite new to upwork & applied to this typing job. I’m kinda skeptical about it and just wanted to confirm if this is some sort of scam
Retainer Fee for typing/data entry jobs in Upwork

New in this freelancing thing.. i am a full time caregiver for my parent so cannot really go out for jobs so I am relying on freelancing gigs.. but I also don't want to waste 48 hours and not get paid
Edit: Thank you guys, I realise it's a scam.. Thank you so much for your response
