You can find Muay Thai training and gyms anywhere really. But seriously, Ubon? Ubon Ratchathani?
Ubon compared to a place like Chiangmai is too hardcore, too remote, too off grid for the average expat wanting the Thai experience. Ive been there myself for two weeks, and I would straight up say it doesn’t have western friendly foods, services, amenities. The city has fuck all to do apart from candle festival in August or Tawandang MorLum nightclub, transport doesn’t exist and not only would you need a scooter… you’ll most likely need a car since isan region 100% needs a car to get around (I live here in Udon Thani). Living costs are great but nothing there but somtum and nice temples.
You gotta throw yourself where the action is brother, go Chiangmai or somewhere on grid. Chiangmai as a thai city is relatively affordable. To choose Ubon you’re making life difficult for yourself mate. Isan might be nice because you’re left the fuck alone in peace and quiet, but for growth and development you need to hit places where action is.
(Edit: Muay Thai in isan though from what I see is better price compared to popular areas, isan fighters have a reputation to be hardened fighters… the best)
