February 29, 2024Anyone here who has completed JavaScript Zero to Expert course from Jonas Schmedtmann.
I recently started it and completed about 50% of it. I am an intermediate when it comes to JavaScript but I can definitely say that this course is a great introduction to JavaScript and it's worth finishing it. Having said that, why buy more than 1 course from a teacher that you don't know if their way of teaching will be a good fit for you? Udemy always offers 90% discounts so no need to rush. I too consider buying his Node.js, Express, MongoDB course too but only after finishing this one. When it comes to HTML/CSS, not sure because I already learned that stuff. In short, what you need to learn is building CRUD web apps. This includes: HTML/CSS, JavaScript (or TypeScript), a JavaScript framework (ie React is often used in the industry) and a database (ie MongoDB). Hello, friends. I am a beginner and I have 3 options of courses:
Alura, a brazilian platform which was already paid for by my cousin, but their method is too aggressive and leaves me with a bunch of questions. I went through the OOP curriculum and stopped at DOM and local/section storages.
The odin Project, everyone recommends it, but I haven't used it yet
Or Jonas' course, which I have already bought. I have liked it so far and it's really well done. Better than Alura, in my opinion, as his method of teaching is better for dumb people like me. I am through the Fundamentals pt 2, learning about objects and, soon enough, loops.
If anyone could give me their feedback on the course, it'd be very helpful. Ty for your attention

I've taken Jonas's course, it's great! But the Odin Project is not just JavaScript, but also a comprehensive course on every aspect of front-end development. It's also very demanding, which I like, and it's quite a long process. You'll learn what Jonas teaches in the foundations of the project alongside HTML and CSS. On the second level, you start the very advanced JS. That's why I recommend it.
