I applied to the University of Michigan for Early Action, and am currently in the process of filling out financial aid materials. After submitting my CSS Profile, I got an email that since my parents are divorced, I would need to fill out the CSS Profile Household B form for my noncustodial parent. However, since my father has been out of the picture for almost 10 years, this isn't possible, so I plan to request a waiver. For context, for my circumstances, I need to submit 3 detailed statements from myself, my mom, and a third party that is knowledgeable on my circumstances that is not a relative or a family friend, and this is where the problem is.
The events and circumstances surrounding my family's situation are not only very personal but they're also not particularly recent at this point in time, meaning nobody that I know is aware of them besides relatives and family friends, so now I'm stuck. Does anybody have any advice?
I got deferred EA from u of m ann arbor but got an email last friday saying I am missing my css profile for financial aid. Is this a good sign that I might be admitted regular decision?
