Small brand out of Europe . Can’t remember the name, something like “Locosti”. Little alligator on their shirts. Very much old-money-at-Monaco meets pale British tourist vibes. Answer from Scary_Trash9997 on reddit.com

r/Techno on Reddit: Any recommended Underground House/Techno Apparel, Websites?
March 5, 2024 -

Hello Techno. I'm trying to toss up my wardrobe and dig for some new clothing that aligns with the music culture of house and techno. The Underground scene I tend to notice a lot of black... with logos and fun patterns.
Most of the rave clothing I was recommended make me feel like I'd be dressing like a wook and be super into crystals.

Underground Streetwear. Stuff that’s barely breaking the scene?

I’m looking for some underground stuff/brands/sites to browse to make a pair of new color block AF1s pop.

Preferably American so I don’t have to wait for over seas shipping unless you know a company that is speedy and prompt.

Minimalistic also. Scoured most sites you find on the surface from a quick google search. Vetements is cool but over seas.

Also techwear? What are you all coping

Someone remarked in the other thread that we should do an underrated list—so let’s do it. I always enjoy hearing about stuff I should be paying more attention to anyway… I’ll start (and I’m interpreting this as underrated among TFers or in the contemporary “cool” menswear space in general):

J. Press — granted, they make no attempt to market themselves as anything but the most trad of trad/ivy torchbearers, but their sweater game is ridiculous, their Oxford cloth button-downs are gold standards, their tweed and corduroy jackets are stunning… Ties, belts, rugby shirts… Glorious stuff! Almost entirely US-made! And without the occasional cosplay vibes of Ralph (God bless him).

Freenote Cloth — beautifully constructed American-made classic/“heritage” stuff; I just never see them mentioned around these parts. I have a corduroy trucker jacket of theirs that is god-tier and never fails to get compliments.

r/streetwear on Reddit: [Discussion] What are some cool underground hoodie and clothing brands?
February 17, 2017 -

I would like if they had some nice sweatshirts, long sleeve shirts, and pants. I have exhausted all the brands I know and would love some new stuff. I’m pretty flexible on the style and everything and have no set budget. Some brands I have worn in the past are civil regime, supreme, bape, alien body, and lots of adidas. (I know not anything suuuuper underground besides civil regime) I don’t wear short sleeves or anything but I love hoodies and long sleeve shirts! Also love the style of clothing the Hyv carries. that type of style is my type of stuff.

I like very simple clothing or things that have cool, original designs with words on it.

The reason I like underground as opposed to mainstream is so that I or other people haven’t seen it everywhere.

title says it all. iyo, what is your take on this and why?

examples of well-known brands may include element, baker, nike sb, vans, mob, etc.

examples of underground brands may include quasi/fa, lamebrain, clearweather, straye, etc.

The "Brands that won't survive 2025/hate watch" post was interesting. I'm asking for the opposite. What are some brands that are either:

  • Up and coming, and will take a big step forward in 2025

  • Trending now and will continue to be strong

Some people were fiery with their hate posts; I want that same energy for brands y'all are supporting big time for '25

Update: the feedback has been so helpful. I’m bookmarking this and will refer to it all throughout the year.

In light of all the posts on this sub about the ethics (or lack thereof) of both fast fashion and designer brands, as well as complaints about how everyone dresses the same these days, I would love to know your favorite small/independent makers or brands, or even vintage sources.

I'm at a point where I have a closet full of good quality basics that cover most of my needs, and going forward I would like to focus on adding more unique pieces to my wardrobe (so not really looking for those sustainable basics brands). Especially shoes, bags and jewelry (preferably fine jewelry) as I make most of my own clothes, but feel free to add clothing resources as well.

I would love to shop locally, but I live in a small place where there aren't a lot of options available to me. I try to seek out local makers whenever I travel though. I was recently in Greece where I got a pair of earrings from Ariadni Kypri that I am obsessed with, so that's a maker I can personally recommend.

Now I would love to hear yours! :)

r/mensfashion on Reddit: Exclusive, Understated Fashion Brands in NYC?
March 19, 2025 -

Hey everyone, I just moved to NYC from Florida, and I’ve been noticing a big difference in how people here approach high fashion. Back in Florida, if you wanted something exclusive or high-end, you’d just hit up the big names—Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry, etc. But in NYC, it seems like people lean more toward subtle, understated brands that are still high fashion and exclusive.

One brand I’ve been really into lately is Aimé Leon Dore. I like that it’s exclusive (only has stores in NYC and London), so you don’t see it everywhere. Their pieces are trendy but still accessible—things don’t sell out in minutes, and you don’t have to camp outside the store just to get in. I’m not the type to be glued to my computer 24/7 trying to cop a drop before it’s gone—I prefer the freedom to buy when I want.

What are some other brands like Aimé Leon Dore that I should check out in NYC? Looking for something exclusive, stylish, and a bit under-the-radar, but still attainable. Would love to hear your recommendations!
