I'm not in Ontario, but here is my experience with Uni Express in Montreal. I've had four packages delivered by them in the past month and a half. They are a very small courier service that seems to exist solely to deliver combined shipping packages from AliExpress. Any AE packages that have shipped individually always come in via Canada Post. The best way to keep track of Uni deliveries is through their 'Uni App'. Here is what their delivery jargon has meant for me (the order is bottom-up [most recent event on top], same as it appears in the UNI app): Tracking event #5*: Out for Delivery *Will appear 1-2 days after the previous event. Tracking event #4*: Arrival Scan [address of Uni Express depot in your hometown] *Will appear 1-2 days after the previous event. Tracking event #3*: Gateway transit to destination Toronto Warehouse, Toronto Ontario *Will appear 3-5 days after the previous event. Tracking event #2*: Canada, Your parcel has arrived in Canada and in the process of customs or transshipment *Will appear 1 day after the previous event. Tracking event #1*: China, Your parcel is in transit to Canada by air *This is the first tracking event you will see. Takeaways: From the time of the first tracking event to the last, total time will be 7-11 days. Use the Uni App, as their tracking numbers don't show up on other parcel apps I have installed. If you are home on the day of tracking event #5, be ready to pounce on the driver like a leopard and if you see a missed call from an unknown number, this means your package is literally minutes away from delivery. Call the number right back and let the driver know you are home and waiting for your package. Detailed breakdown of my experiences with them for each parcel: Parcel #1: Like you, I had never heard of these guys before this, so when unknown phone numbers started calling me, I never picked up. Turns out the delivery driver for Uni Express was calling me to deliver the package and when I didn't answer, the package was sent back to their storage depot. I was left a missed delivery card with no info on how to contact them. I installed their app and the next day, the Uni App mentioned that I had 5 days to pick up my package or it would be returned to China. I could also schedule a second delivery attempt, but it would be a wait of two weeks. I chose to pick it up and saw that it's a small operation with a storage area where they were handling maybe a few hundred small packages. Takeaway: since I didn't know who they were at this point, I give them a pass on this delivery even though a 5 day deadline to pick something up is ridiculous. Usually couriers will hold on to packages for anywhere from 2-4 weeks. Parcel #2: This time the Uni App showed that my item was out for delivery and I was ready for their calls. The driver called my cell phone and let it ring only once before hanging up. The driver then buzzed my apartment and I immediately ran to my building lobby to find him writing out another missed delivery card. He sheepishly claimed that my buzzer wasn't working which was BS. Slightly annoyed, I took it from him. Parcel #3: This time the driver once again buzzed my apartment and left the parcel in my building lobby. This was acceptable to me. Parcel #4: This time there was no call or buzz at all. The front door to the building was open and the driver left the parcel in the lobby. I only found out it had been delivered through their app. Answer from tdredi on reddit.com

I just stumbled on your post even though it's a few weeks old I thought I'd share my experience (and little frustration). I've had two parcels (apparently) delivered by Uni Express (aka Uni Uni) in recent times and both of them have gone missing while AE logistics claim they have been delivered. In reply to my dispute case, AE requested I provide a statement from my local post service asserting that they, themselves, lost the parcel in transit! Just to be accommodating, I contacted Canada Post and (oh surprise!) they have no record of my parcel. And that's when I find out that the first letter in the tracking number (U#######) refers to Uni Express which is a private delivery service that I'm guessing to be more economical than that of the public sector. I'm suspecting a certain affiliation with the original shipper given that they share a common surname... but that has yet to be verified. When I contacted UE with the same request set forth by AE, they answered with a dark and blurry photo of a hand holding a parcel with the front door of my house as background. An accompanying message saying: "proof of delivery". I replied with an observation that their photo also shows my front door being only three steps away from a public sidewalk. They cut all communications after that. UE operations apparently don't include pickup points and your parcels are systematically left at your doorstep with no effort to conceal them or even a notice to tell you they have arrived. And so without proof that the packages were lost by my local delivery service, AE closed my dispute cases. What makes it more frustrating is the fact that both times, the parcel contained multiple orders that AE thought more convenient to combine into one shipment. Yet each order was closed with its respective shipping fee and each parcel - if delivered separately - would have easily fit through my mail slot. Furthermore, if sent through regular post, any package that doesn't fit in the mail slot would simply get me a notice to pick up my belongings at the local post office.
