March 17, 2020 - Hotel Union Square is a boutique hotel in San Francisco smack in the middle of the action in Union Square. It’s upscale – but very affordable. It’s an older building with lots of character — it reminded me a lot of my first studio apartment in San Francisco when I lived their as a young adult just out of Uni.

San Francisco day San francisco Golden gate park day A great golden gate park day is even better with a bike … Lets say you start at 10 am with brunch a great spot is the pork store in the haight ashbury district the classic hippie district After brunch you can check out some of the stores along the haight there is great thrifting, although you will need to put what you buy in a backpack for the rest of the day - ben and jerries if its hot Then you can walk into aids memorial, then bike through golden gate park along JFK blvd go to the conservatory of flowers, japanese tea garden, botanical gardens to get your garden fill Keep going all the way through gg park on ur bikes until the beach and take a dip in the water if the waves arent too big and the sun is out, checking out the windmill next to beach chalet along the way , beach chalet is a good spot for a hot drink Then go to land’s end, check out the old sutro baths and walk along the trail on top of china and baker beach with views of the golden gate bridge If you have your bikes On clement or irving street look for chinese bakeries like sheng kee bakery or any one of them and get some bao buns, a fav of mine And thats a pretty full day as it is!! Other tips: when visiting the castro go to hot cookie (don’t ask why), then walk down 18th street until dolores park and sit for a while with the view I love chez maman in potrero its a great french resto but make sure to go to the one in potrero not hayes valley, better views There is excellent sushi in japantown which is cool to see as well, also closeby is korean bbq which is also fun but there isnt too much around japantown and it is quite small In chinatown go get dim sum from one of the many stores and buy some firecrackers and check out the chinese stores Chinatown is also really close to lombard street and coit tower where youll get views of alcatraz and downtown when you are in lombard walk down to the italian district and get amazing pasta for lunch at homemade italian Alcatraz is actually pretty cool to visit and take the ferry to but is a full day kind of activity, maybe you can tag it onto the chinatown lombard etc Order of importance: Gg park and lands end Chinatown and lombard, coit Get a Waymo in sf!
