How do I calculate the unit price?
You can calculate the unit price using the unit price formula. Divide the item's total price by the number of units of the item:
unit price = total price / no. of units.
What is the unit price?
The unit price is the cost per ounce, per pound, per kilogram, per liter, or other units of weight or volume of an item you want to buy.
For example, let's say you're hungry for pancakes and need to buy some flour. In the shop, you have two choices: a smaller package โ $1 for 1 kg, and a larger one โ $1.35 for 1.5 kg. You'd need to consider the unit price to know which is a better buy.
How do I calculate unit price for multi-item packages?
For a package with multiple items, the unit price formula reads:
unit price = total price / no. of items.
For example, you can compare a dozen eggs for $2.99 and an 18-egg package for $3.50 if you use the unit price calculator in Items mode. The calculator quickly determines that an 18-egg package is cheaper by $0.05/egg.
I'm tired of manually entering prices of items on Listonic every time I go to a grocery store to compare prices. I checked the most popular apps but it doesn't seem any of them are optimized for Price per unit Tracking. If anyone has any recommendations I'm all ears.
As for listonic I been using it cuz it's the most simple app that has multiple fields I can fill out to track different metrics. Also it lets me share lists with my gf so no matter who goes to buy stuff we are both on the same page.
