October 19, 2014 - ******* Also, you don't need to use the Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit, because many flash tools have "-i" and "-o" options. You can actually make a backup, using the manufacturer provided tool. Do a "-o" run first, to do the backup. Do a "-i" run, to flash in a new BIOS. If the flash goes wrong, immediately do a "-i" using the archived flash file. There is a utility for backing up the 256 byte CMOS area, but since the definition of what is stored in there, changes on a BIOS revision basis, the backed up information has hardly any lasting value.
