I worked at Universal in Florida for years. I cannot tell you how many times people show up in the afternoon expecting those parks to be open late, even in the slow times of the year. More often than not, the parks are only open until 6 or 7PM. More on reddit.com

That’s tough. I love the studio tour, and it really is cool how much it goes through the studio, but that’s going to take possibly half the time you have there. Another issue is that since you’re going on an HHN night, they’re going to close the lower lot (Jurassic World, Mummy, Transformers, and Mario Land) around 5, so if any of those are priority I’d do those right away. To further complicate things the Studio Tour will also stop running early, so it kinda looks like your choice will be lower lot attractions or upper lot attractions including the studio tour. My recommendation would be to call up universal and see if you can change your ticket to the Halloween Horror Night After 2 PM ticket. This will let you go into the park when you arrive, and stay during the HHN event. Even if you’re not interested in the scary stuff, all the Lower Lot rides (including Nintendo Land with the 2PM ticket) will be open, so you can do the regular studio tour in the day, and a lot of the other attractions at night.
