Planning to go to USH in December and trying to get to the park right after our flight roughly we will arrive there on the 20th (Friday) at 3PM. We will be purchasing the express passes along with the general admission. Question is I can't find the hours for December time will it be from 9am-9pm?? or will it be from 9am-7pm??
We just want to confirm as we know we at least need 6 hours for what we want to do. Its a short weekend trip so we would prefer to stick to the 20th if we can.
Thank you for your help
You will not get 6 hours in the park if your flight lands at 3, even if it were open until 9.
You might get to the park by 4, but that's a stretch. I wouldn't plan on the park Friday, except maybe a few hours, and I certainly wouldn't get an express pass for that day.
I agree, probably don't get the express passes the first day. Another thing to remember is the premier hotels give you free express pass if you stay there and, depending on the size of your party, it might be the cheaper option.
Hello! My wife and I will be visiting Universal Studios Hollywood for the first time this December. We are trying to choose which date and ticket type and have some questions for those familiar with the park.
Our visit details and preferences:
Our date choices are Sunday, December 10 (hours 9A-9P) or Monday, December 11 (hours 10A-7P)
We will purchase early entry for SNW
The main attractions for us will be SNW, Wizarding World, Studio Tour, Jurassic World, and WaterWorld - though we’ll attempt to ride all rides at least once as time allows
We do not want to rush from ride-to-ride all day long, but we’d like to experience as many as we can while also enjoying the atmosphere and surroundings
We typically do not like to wait more than 30 minutes in line for a ride
My questions to the experts:
I suspect the park will be busier on Sunday, but it is also open 3 hours longer that day. For those who have visited on a Sunday and a Monday this year since SNW has been open, which day did you prefer? Do lower crowds on Mondays make up for shorter operating hours?
Would Express be an “essential” purchase either day to allow us to visit all of our main attractions at least once without exceeding our balk point of 30 minute waits, or should following a well-tested touring strategy be sufficient?
I understand that if we don’t purchase an Express ticket prior to our visit, it can also be purchased in-park, if availability allows. How does the in-park upgrade cost typically compare to the original Express ticket cost?
We’re excited for our first visit, and would appreciate your comments and experiences to help us finalize our plans!
