January 29, 2025 - When one ride closes, another new ride at Universal Studios opens! Universal Orlando announced the closure of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit in September 2025. Although we are sad about this, we’re excited for what is to come.

May 22, 2025 - Universal says it's goal is to be "a weeklong vacation destination," much like its Orlando theme park competitor Walt Disney World, which has six theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, along with water parks Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon). Part of Universal's expansion also includes three new hotels: Universal Helios Grand Hotel, Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort, bringing its total to 11 hotels. Its location is also incredibly valuable real estate. Universal Studios Florida could use that space for a franchise worthy of a robust, modern dark-ride experience—something that delivers on thrills instead of relying on a pre-show, a bus vehicle, and a wall of screens.
