Hey guys.
Long story short, my iPhone 12 was finally paid off, so I upgraded to a 16. I needed a case, so I waited to activate it instead of swapping my old phone in at att. In the week between getting the 16 and receiving the case… my 12 was stolen.
Here’s the dilemma. I have to hand in an old phone in order to lower the contract price on the 16. If I HAVE to pay $55/month instead of $10, I guess I’ll deal. My main concern is that my overbearing and wildly judgemental alcoholic mother still sees the bill, even though I pay my portion. So she’ll see I didn’t return it
Frankly… I just can’t deal with her too right now. I’m having a top 5 worst month of my life. (I know I’m a grown ass woman but) I’m just trying to get thru Xmas with her so I can see my dad and I don’t think I will if she has a tangible/fresh reason to go at me.
So with all that said - where could I go about buying a cheap, used iPhone 11/12/13 (can be shattered or water damaged) that I can immediately turn around and give to ATT?
I live off the J in bushwick (ish) and work downtown, but I’ll literally go anywhere to accomplish this task -even NJ I guess.

Attempted to go to the apple store for the first time. Was not prepared for it not being a store and more like a doctor's office without chairs. Left empty-handed even though they had what I wanted. Come to find out that iPhones really aren't sold unlocked anywhere else. I can't order the 13 Pro from their site. Is there a secret to buying an iphone unlocked?
