Add some random different parameter to every image as shown in my example and it works.

Can someone help with fetching random images from unsplash
I just went through this process myself, hoping to create an automation to set a random abstract wallpaper each day on my home screen. Unfortunately the "Set wallpaper" action is broken on iOS 18 beta, but the rest may help you. First, you need to sign up for an account at Unsplash. I can't recall if I had to do anything to mark my account as a developer, but all of this was free. Check out https://unsplash.com/documentation#creating-a-developer-account Then go to https://unsplash.com/oauth/applications and create a new demo application. A demo application is limited to 50 API requests per hour but otherwise is fully functional, AFAIK. Once you create that application you'll find an access key towards the bottom of that application's page. Copy that key to your clipboard. Import the following shortcut. This is my first shared shortcut so I apologize if I've done anything wrong, but it should ask you for that API key you just copied and the category of image you want to capture. By default it grabs abstract images but any keyword should work. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/045120a29de142e4a81cf0f979eeb440 From there you can do with the image whatever you'd like. There are also other query parameters you can use that are documented at the link below. https://unsplash.com/documentation#photos If you have any problems I'm happy to try and help, but bear in mind that I'm pretty new at shortcuts so I'm not sure how much help I can be.... I also want to note that I found the bones of this shortcut somewhere else, I didn't come up with all of it, but I can't remember where I found it to give proper credit. Just know it's not all me. Edit: This is what I get for reading on mobile, then trying to respond half an hour later without rereading the OP. I didn't see the link to the shortcut you'd already made and forgot that you already had an application and key. Sorry if I got overly simple with it, but maybe this information will help somebody else, too. More on reddit.com

r/shortcuts on Reddit: Can someone help with fetching random images from unsplash
July 4, 2024 -

I have a shortcut that takes a random bible verse and and a random image from unsplash, merges them together and makes it a wallpaper. Now unsplash recently changed their api and the random image generator irl is broken and no longer works. I looked it up and some say i have to sign up and get an access key(which i got) and access the api that way, im not into programming so much. I went back and forth with chatgpt in hopes i can do it myself but to no avail. Can anyone help me please gain access to unsplash images.

Ahh yes yes, i did realize it hangs on the long script sometimes. It give an error: The file isn't in the correct format. The PDF was corrupt or could not be read. But if you keep running the shortcut it will go thru and stop by the resize command

Generate Random Images From Unsplash Without Using The API - Andreas Wik
June 24, 2018 - In case you haven’t heard already – Unsplash is the place to go when you need royalty free photos to use in your projects, whether it’s for commercial use or not. I use it myself quite often, for large background images. So does https://pixelarity.com, just to name an example. While they do have a great API for developers, they also give you the option to simply access random images via URL’s.
