It's possible the new update is not available for your old iPad, requiring a new version of iOS.
- Make sure your iPadOS is up to date in Settings → General → Software Update.
- Search the App Store for the app and check the compatibility section at the bottom of the app listing to make sure the latest version is still compatible with your iPad.

Why doesn't iOS update all apps automatically?
They either all update automatically if you have that option turned on, or none of them do. There are no other options.
If they update automatically, that does not happen immediately when the update is released. It can take several days before they are updated but it will happen.

Is there any shortcut that automatically checks if there is any new update for all my apps(currently using on my iPad) on App Store?
I know we can notice when we go to App Store and tap the profile if there is a new update, but I'm not talking about it. Because the way I mentioned above is not accurate quite often, it doesn't give us all although some apps have new update. So I have to visit all of my app pages manually to see if there is a new update. I think this is so ridiculous and such a waste of our time.
Opposed to App Store, we can simply check whether there's a new update or not by tapping just one button on Google's Playstore. For example, if you downloaded 20 apps, you would know about the update by touching one simple button, however here on App Store, you have to visit all your 20 app pages to know about it.
Please let me know if there's a shortcut for it. I've searched on this reddit and other websites, but couldn't find it.
(I'm sorry for my poor English skill, so please bear with me folks😅)
