Can't update or install some apps using Google Play Store
I have the same problems, it started yesterday when Playstore couldn't update some apps. snapchat was one of them. I also cleared cache and data from google Playstore, not the play service though. Some apps i had to uninstall and reinstall to get to work again, but some apps, like snapchat didn't want to install again. However after one more reboot after i had uninstalled snapchat i could install it again, but it still says "Update failed" in Playstore. I have an app called smart life and it doesn't want to install again no matter what i do. Is this a bug in the latest ONE UI and Android security update maybe? I am running a samsung galaxy s23 You say "removed memory content in Google Play Store app" How do i do that? More on reddit.com

Hey Redditors.

While I was setting up Google Wallet (after a manual instalation from APKMirror, because it isn't supported in my country yet), the app asked which Google account I have to link and then proceeded afterwards to download the August 2023 Google play system update. Rebooted twice afterwards and the patch is still on August 2023 and uninstalled Wallet (Will definitely be using it though while travelling, but not for now)

FYI : Been stuck on February 2023 before it I proceeded to said installation.

r/GooglePixel on Reddit: Can't update or install some apps using Google Play Store
October 23, 2024 -

Hello all,

since few weeks I got an issue with some of my apps. When I open them (.e.g. McDonald's app), it tells it can't proceed and it needs to be updated. However, when I go to play store, it simply fails to update. I also tried to re-install it, but it also fails with an error on screenshot below. Also, if I even click on icon of the app, it fails to load information about the app and shows the same error.

What I've tried so far:

  • Reinstall app

  • Clear cache of play store

  • Reboot device

  • Even updated yesterday to Android 15

  • Checked that Play Store is the latest version

My phone model is Google Pixel 9.

Error screenshot

P.S. I've been able to fix issue when I cleared cache and also removed memory content in Google Play Store app

June 13, 2021 - A possible workaround would be to install the Amazon AppStore app, install Clash of Clans from there, connect to your village (must have SuperCell ID to be able to do this) and then make your purchase through Amazon instead of through the Google Play Store.

r/GooglePixel on Reddit: Update Google Play services notification, but no update available
March 19, 2025 -

Hi! This morning I woke up with my phone showing me notifications I have never seen before.

"Update Google Play Services Messages won't run unless you update Google Play Services"

I also get an other identical one but mentioning Google instead of Messages.

I went in the Play Store, no app updates available. I rebooted the phone as well and deleted cache and storage for Google Play Services and Google Play Store. Still no update available. Any idea how I can fix the issue? The notifications keep coming back a few minutes after I dismiss them.

TIA

Update 10pm eastern, the issue appears to be fixed here. I haven't had any notification pop up since late afternoon. I'm not sure what fixed it. I can see Messages got updated, but that's it.
